I am unbelievably fortunate to live just down the road from this place. The food speaks for itself and I can't even express how amazing the owners are. If your looking for a go-to place for that annual once a week (or twice) Asian take out, Imperial House is that diamond in the ruff. more

i used to live in the area and this was a place i would make a point to go to at least once a week and now that i am stationed out of the area i make it a point to return here everytime i come home. the owner/operators are extremely friendly and very customer service oriented, they still know my order even when sometimes it is more then a year between visits. the food is also amazing from the first time i ate there i have judged every other chinesse place against it and am yet to find a place that even comes close. as said before the decor is a little lacking but again you wont even notice with the friendly atmosphere and the great service. also the prices are great, not that is would matter if they were rediculous, the food would be worth it. stop by and you WILL be coming back. I used to live in Edina, where Imperial House is located, but have since moved out to downtown St. Paul. The food at this restaurant is so good that I have absolutely no problem making the 20-25 minute trip to pick up an order! This is by far my favorite restaurant, let alone chinese restaurant.\r \r The sesame chicken ($8.99) and lo mein ($7.25-8.75) seem to be universal favorites, in my experience, and the lunch buffet from 11am-2:30pm M-F cannot be beat at $6.57. \r \r The owners, who make up the complete staff (waitress, cook), are the most wonderful and friendly people I've ever met. They are eager to accommodate you with quick service and quality food. \r \r The only con I could possibly imagine is that the decor is less than appealing compared to other big restaurants, and the space is a bit small, but the delicious food will make you forget all about that. \r \r Bottom line: This is a great place with great food. It really deserves to be more than a neighborhood secret. Highly recommend. Pros: Excellent food at reasonable prices, service is wonderful Cons: restaurant is a bit small and not that flashy more
