totally satisfied 3/23/2011

I heard of this restaurant from Nancy Leson's Seattle Times review quite some time ago. Finally I made it over there last week. It was definitely worth the driving!!! We had about 6 dishes to share among the 6 of us for our ladies night out. The food was so good and reminded me of those dishes that we used to have in Vancouver Canada. We are happy to find a restaurant considerably nearby compare driving to Vancouver since the US dollar is so weak now. I would strongly recommend you all to try if you like good quality Chinese Hong Kong style and or Shanghai style food. They have it all. more

Enjoy! 2/13/2011

My friends and I went there to celebrate Chinese new year's last week. The food was simply amazing. we did not make a reservation, so we ended up waiting a bit, but considering the cheap price & the quality of the food, it's nothing! more

Why Only 3 Stars~!? 1/30/2011

I'm appalled that this chinese chowdown heaven is only getting 3 stars! I've been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. In fact, I have always walked out patting my poofy belly due to their yummy food. more

Nice Shanghai food HERE~! 1/9/2011

My parents and I went there last week and had some Shanghai dishes, and weekly special ?Crab noodle (See Pics) , delicious and great Price~! more

Guess Why It's ""Today's Special""?? 12/30/2010

GROSS!! I came in with someone, the place was empty right before dinner time, a waiter handed us our menus and told us that there was a great special on crabs. I said I don't care for seafood much. He recommended crab another 2-3 times hoping to talk one of us into it. We made our order of something else anyway. On my way to the restroom I saw why this was the case. All the crabs were upside down and dead in their tanks. No friggin wonder. Talk about disgusting and insulting. I will never go back!! P.S. He reeked of cigarettes. more

Awful 5/3/2010

Experienced Imperial Garden as an invited guest so was spared the indifference of wait staff, and pain of paying for overpriced mediocre to bad food. Facilities: Dirty, glaring lighting, uninspired, uninviting. Pros: Parking Cons: Location; Food more

Dim sum...terrible service! Expensive! 10/3/2009

I visited this restaurant against my better judgement. My sister and brother in law went, and for two of them it cost $44 for dim sum. For TWO people. But I wanted dim sum and it is right by my house. Three of us went and were sat in a corner. There was ONE steam cart for the entire place which came by my table TWO times in the hour we were there. It was like we were being purposely avoided. We had to ask for more tea, and when it arrived it was not our original pot. No, it was an OLD COLD pot of tea. This means it could only have come off the dirty dish area or something like that. We ordered 9 dishes of dim sum, only ONE of which was ""special order"" and should have been about $5. Well our bill came out to $55. for three people, for dim sum!! I was so angry. We were way overcharged. For 9 dishes, if all of them were ""special order"" it would have come to about $50. Small and large dishes are like $3 or $4, and special orders are like $5. So how the F did the bill come to $55?!! This place sucks, the people that work there suck and are rude. I truly felt that our poor treatment had something to do with being a group of white people. There attitude towards us showed their disapproval of us being in their overpriced joint. AVOID THIS PLACE. Go to Joy Palace in Seattle instead, its far better. Pros: Okay food Cons: rude staff, long wait, one steam cart, EXPENSIVE, racist? more

Ok selections and good services. No big deal 5/13/2009

I wanted to find another place to have Dim Sum since I only know those in Seattle. It is a bit far to drive from where I live in Puyallup. So we went. The initial service was really quick. Food started to come out. After may be about 6 to 8 different dishes, we started to see a lot of repeats. They don't usually serve all their selections, especially those ala cart orders early. So if you like verities, be there about regular lunch or dinner time. Yes it might be crowded but that is how it goes. Pros: Relatively close to most residential areas. Cons: limited selections depending on the time more

worst dim sum in Seattle area 4/3/2009

omg. they had one cart for dim sum for the whole restaurant and there was barely anything to eat .. looking at other tables everyone was waiting holding their chopsticks and it's a teaser. I can't believe ppls still eat there. I recommend hong kong seafood or house of hong in Chinatown .. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Horrible Customer Serice and very expensive price 8/27/2008

I took 4 tables for my mother in law birthday party there. more

The Worst Service Ever and Very Bad Dim Sum and a Cover Charge!!!!!!!! 8/22/2006

Wow. I don't think it can get any worse. The service was horrible. The servers went by with the dim sum cart and served everyone around my table but completely ignored my table. I had to stop them couple of times just to get some food!! Then they charged me for tea which I refused, when I pointed out the charge, they said I have to pay for cover charge if I don't drink tea! Amazing. I had never heard of it. I am one of those patient people who hate complaining about restaurants but this takes the cake. I was able to grab 3 dishes as it went by..horrible!!Go to Top Gun in Factoria instead. Food is much much better and so is the service! more

horrible service and DIRTY 8/15/2006

After being promptly seated, I found that my tea cup was quite dirty (and easy to see this, as teacups are white at Chinese restaurants). We were sitting down for around 5 minutes and we did not get TEA, nor did we get anyone coming by with a cart full of dim sum! Pros: dunno Cons: POOR POOR HORRIBLE SERVICE and dirty teacup more

Worst service not worth the trip for okay food 3/11/2006

I'm quite used to the restaurants with not-very-good service, but this was the worst I've ever experienced in Seattle. It took us at least 3 requests to get some water after we sat down and for refills we had to grab a server's sleeve carrying a water pitcher to beg for some. Food was just okay - my friend took us there since she really liked their specials, which were not being served any more. I tried ordering some dessert directly off their menu, and the server started yelling at that I wasnt saying it quickly enough. When we were just more than ready to get out of that place, we realized we were overcharged they charged twice for a few of the items on our check. And the last scene was a server yelling at a cashier in front of the customers waiting to pay their checks. Cons: Terrible service, Only average food, Crowded more

Sudden, sharp turn for the worse 6/17/2005

This used to be the best dim sum restaurant in the area, with a very authentic taste, and well worth the drive south from Seattle. But a recent visit revealed the food is not up to its previous standard. Too much of it was bland or cold, and just not very good. Maybe still worth a drive down if you haven't yet visited the interesting asian shopping mall it's located in, but based on my recent experience there, the food itself is not the attraction it once was. Pros: Neighboring shops Cons: Food not so great more

Ok but not great... 3/27/2005

I've had a lot of dim sum up and down the west coast, and thought my mom would enjoy it as something different. Based on various rave reviews I took her to Imperial Garden for dim sum and was, frankly, disappointed. The dim sum was limited to a dozen or so items on the circulating carts and the variety wasn't that great. The quality of what we did have - bao, su mai, misc. shrimp, egg rolls, potstickers - was average at best. On the bright side the atmosphere was very professional and a majority of the diners were asian. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but I would have thought dim sum could be prepared with consistency... Pros: Good parking, nice atmosphere Cons: average dim sum more

Valentine Treat 2/4/2004

I recommend Imperial Garden on Valentines Day. They have the best menu, including drinks. Try the lobster! more

Some of the Best of Seattle 1/28/2003

Since I first tried this restaurant a few years ago, I have come back prehaps a few dozen times for the Dim Sum. It is not the best I've ever had but it is VERY Good. It can be very crowded at lunch time due to the popularity of this place. The service is OK, but not much above that. I just recently tried items off of their regular menu and found them to be just as good as the Dim Sum menu. Everything was flavorful and well presented. Pros: Dim Sum, Regular Menu, atmosphere Cons: service more

great dim sum 12/7/2002

Dim sum is consistently the best in Seattle. Not on par w/ Hong Kong or Vancouver, but for Seattle, it's great! Pros: fresh seafood Cons: crowded more

Chinese Dragon 11/9/2002

Food is greasy but some of them are good. The service is Chinese style, in other words, it is sucks if you compared as an American standard. more

Great food, out of the ordinary dishes. 8/29/2002

The usual course is much above average in quality, with slightly above average prices. Their speciality dishes are their speciality, birds nest soup, seafood dishes to name a few. This would be considered average quality in Hong Kong, but that would cost the price of a round trip air fare to rate it as average. So an excellent flavor of Hong Kong can be had with a 40 minute drive south of Seattle to Renton. Pros: Great food, Very good service, Unusual dishes Cons: Too far from Seattle, OPEN atmosphere more
