My favorite yarn store in the City 10/28/2008

I don't know why I waited as long as I did to go here, but this is one of my favorite yarn shops in San Francisco. It's floor to ceiling yarns, organized by weight. They even have the animal fibers in a separate room from the cottons, silks, etc for folks who have allergies. \r \r The staff is very helpful. The options of yarn with color, texture, it's all just lovely. I can't help but walk around and pet all the different yarns. \r \r They have all kinds of notions and needles as well. They also offer classes. And they work with a number of charities in the area as a drop-off point where you can donate your knitted creations. more

Amazing yarn store! Worth the trip! 3/9/2006

I love this store. They have every yarn you have only read about online and in magazines. I loved being able to touch everything and try out yarns I would have had trouble finding if it weren't for them. The staff is friendly and the location is good. A++ more

Excellent Customer Service 10/25/2005

Unlike the previous two reviewers, my experience was excellent. I shopped on a Saturday, and the store was packed with customers. I've just learned to knit and was looking for a conversion chart that a friend had gotten there. Even though I didn't quite know how to term what I was seeking, the staff knew exactly what I wanted. And when it came time to choose my yarn, they happily climbed up to check the stock stored above the cubbies full of yarn. (Their selection is huge and varied.) I felt very welcomed, and I will definitely shop there next time I'm in SF. Pros: Variety of product, Helpful staff, Good hours Cons: No easy parking more

Makes me want to knit again 9/2/2005

I haven't tried any of the classes here, but I have shopped for yarn (great selection), and I think someday, when I slow down a bit, I'm going to really get into knitting again (I did a lot of it as a youth) and I'm going to take some classes here. It's a very supportive, creative environment. more

Anything you need for innovative, creative crafts, Imagiknit has for sale. If they don't have it in stock, they'll order it for you. They also offer a knitting circle that meets at a nearby tea house once a week. more

The staff is definitely a bit rude 5/5/2005

I absolutely agree with the other reviewer. I still buy yarn at this shop but only because I live around the corner and so it's easy. Their prices are pretty high, and the staff is rude and not at all helpful. I've been to other yarn shops in the bay area (there's an excellent one in Half Moon Bay) and have been treated to helpful, enthusiastic service by knitters who really know what they're doing. Can't for the life of me figure out why people who don't want to help others knit would open a yarn shop. What's the point? Pros: Selection of yarn Cons: Horrible service, Overpriced more

Don't Bother If You Have ANY Questions 6/27/2004

Although they have a huge selection of yarns, the staff that work here are incredibly rude. They seem to have plenty of time to stand at the counter and talk amongst themselves, but act as if you are interupting a world summit to ask then a question. I found the whole experience very off-putting . I gave the shop three chances but had essentially the same experience all three times. I will not come back, and I'll make sure to pass the word on to my friends to not bother!! Pros: selection Cons: , over-priced more
