Best

The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is great! It's also normally quiet enough to carry on a nice conversation....one downfall though: AVOID ON SUNDAY BRUNCH/LUNCH too...

Worst

Simply put the food is not in keeping with the image presented. Crabcakes were mushy with too much filler and no lump crab. Lobster ravioli was also mush, where's the shellfish?...

Great atmosphere! 3/4/2007

Pretenious, Overated, Never Again 2/25/2007

Simply put the food is not in keeping with the image presented. Crabcakes were mushy with too much filler and no lump crab. Lobster ravioli was also mush, where's the shellfish? Crepe desert had apple core and seeds in it. Tiramisu was bland. Only the wine was excellent and two glasses was not enough to make the food appealing. We both spent half the night afterwards with indigestion. Service was so slow you wondered if they were having it shipped from Italy while you waited. Server was way over the top in his phoniness. Noisy despite attempts to be intimate. Definitely will not return or recommend. Pros: Wine Cons: Everything else more

What a wonderful place! 2/21/2003

Il Fornaio... Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. The atmosphere and service were beautiful, warm and very inviting. The food, oh my gawd! I'm an Italian from New York, and this is by far, the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to! It even surpassed my grandmother's cooking (don't tell her I said that). Every month they take you to a different region of Italy. The night I went there, with a large group, I had a pasta and rabbit dish, in a mustard cream sauce--oh my gawd, It was beautiful! This is no high brow place, and it's definitely not a jeans and sneakers kind of place. Although a bit pricey, I highly recommend Il Fornaio. Pros: Food, Very friendly service, Wine selection Cons: a bit pricey more
