Best

The margaritas are wonderful too, but come early if you and your friends want to get a seat in the dining room. Tables go quickly each week at taco night.

Worst

I didn't think the service was that great, but every place has its good and bad days.

I've tried this place 5/22/2005

Went a few yrs ago w/ friends. I enjoyed my entree, but 1 of my friends was not impressed w/ hers. The drinks were decent. The atmosphere was fun and busy/noisy but we had a good time. I've been to better, i've to worse. Had a wait so we went to the adult stores wasting time lol. more

Rude manager! 2/3/2005

This rude manager is a good enough reason for anyone to skip Iguana Cantina. The food is only average to begin with. The manager accept no out of state IDs and has no capabilities of distinguishing what valid ids are. He accused a valid U.S. passport to be an expired ID because he mistook the issue date as the expiration date. When the customer explained to him where the expiration date is, he called the cops simply because he refused to talk to the customer or admit that he'd made a mistake! This sort of behavior is unheard of and by no means acceptable! No customers should be discriminated by a restuarant, and this manager discriminated and rejected an adult who was clearly over the age of 21, because he didn't know how to read a passport (accepted by government of countries around the world, but not by Iguana Cantina!) Cons: Rude Manager more

Stuffed Iguana Best thing about Cantina 2/2/2005

Rude quasi host/""bouncer"" is great if you want to get abused at the door for no good reason, and the food is mediocre on its very best day. Cute faux iguana greets visitors at the door, and that is probably the best thing about this dump. Cons: Rude host/"bouncer" more

This place is hilarious! 5/26/2004

I thought I'd post a review of the Iguana Cantina because I think it is the funnest bar and restaurant in Waltham. The staff is really personable -- they'll chat with you about all sorts of things, and the margaritas are fantastic. I usually eat in the bar, but the dining room is very comfortable. They have a new tent over part of the huge back patio which makes it really nice to sit even if the weather is kinda iffy. The patio and restaurant were PACKED on Cinco de Mayo and we had an awesome time at the party. I can't reccomend this place enough! Pros: overly kind staff, good, stiff drinks, awesome snakebites more

wake up 11/3/2003

When will people realize that this is NOT authentic mexican. Good, authentic mexican is available in lot's of retaurants, @ 1/2 the price and still closeby. One to try is Taqueria within a 1/4 mile of IC better, less expensive and AUTHENTIC. Pros: good bar Cons: crowded , expensive, loud more

I liked it 7/18/2003

I was a bit worried after reading the review. I went a couple fridays ago with a small group . We had to wait in the bar before we could be seated outside not a long wait, a bit crunched for space in the bar though. HAd terrific margaritas! When we were seated outside, it was nice. Quesidillas were soooo good, i thought we all got plenty of food for the price. It wasn't as mexican as we thought, but as the waitress expained it is a vacation theme restaraunt. I think if people knew this, they wouldn't be as disappointed. Margaritas were a hit! And our waitress so very helpful and and sweet. Pros: Margaritas, Patio, not rushed Cons: crowded in bar, no tacos more

Don'tGo!-Overhyped. 5/18/2003

The food here is good, the mural and the robotic lizard head that greats you is a nice touch too. But the prices are way too much. Plus during lunch time there are lots of little loud snot nosed kids- good if you're a parent, not so good if you're not. Pros: food is decent, pretty cool mural Cons: expensive, loud annoying brats more

Iguana Can't-Cooka 2/10/2003

El Stinko, mi amigos! Bland burritos. Flavorless fajitas. So-so salsa. Good Margarita's though. more

Rotten drinks 1/29/2003

The one and only time I went to the Iguana Cantina I was presented with the weakest and most uninteresting Margarita I have ever had the misfortune to experience. I headed to the bar and asked if I could have an extra shot of Tequila - even offered to pay for it - and was given a line about the town laws not permitting it. Haven't given it a thought since. Oh and the food left no impression on me at all. Cons: Lousy drinks more

Stick to the margaritas 1/9/2003

The atmosphere and the drinks are great. I also like the chips and salsa. The jalapeno poppers (they call them ""snake bites"") are too spicy for most people to eat. It is difficult finding tasty vegetarian options on the menu but I've heard the meat dishes are good. The atmosphere is good for hanging out, partying or families. Pros: great drinks, fun atmosphere Cons: food isn't great more
