Friendly People 4/29/2011

I know ""friendly people"" sounds strange because it is a towing company, but my vehicle was impounded after having expired licence plates from my apartment complex. The man that helped me at the counter was very nice, and even made phone calls asking about pricing and to see if there was any way we could take some cost off the top (answer was no - but he tried). more

CARELESS TOWING, RECKLESSLY DAMAGING TOWED VEHICLE 9/2/2008

On Sunday, Aug. 31 2008, I was driving along 228th Avenue in Sammamish. At the Pine Lake intersection, an IBSEN TOWING truck turned onto 228th in front of me, traveling North. I noticed something was wrong, as the YELLOW XTERRA (WA lic # including the letters WPO, I think) was listing very visibly to the right. The rear of the XTERRA was loaded onto a very small, obviously undersized ""trailer,"" which consisted only of one small axle, two wheels, and a little platform across the axle, about 24 inches wide. The front wheels of the XTERRA were lifted up behind the small tow truck. When I got close enough, I could see that the right rear tire was NOT, in fact, fastened to the little platform of this separate little towing axle as it should have been. The right rear tire was hanging down, OFF the little towing axle, and in fact was being dragged along on the ground, at 40 to 45 mph. We followed the tow truck to get the driver's attention, but he was on the phone, so no he never noticed us signaling him. Then we watched as he sped up the steep hill at the intersection of Inglewood Hill and 228th, and the smoke from the hanging tire (which was obviously not able to turn) began billowing behind the tow truck, which never slowed down. So, we immediately called Ibsen Towing, to let them know what their driver was doing to someone's car. I don't know if they contacted the driver, as we went our way and he sped North on 228th, but if this car was yours, and you have unexplained damage to not only the right rear tire but any resulting mechanical problems from it being dragged at 40 - 60 mph for miles and miles, please contact the Sammamish Police. I will give them my and my husband's contact in formation so we can support your claim against this tow company for the damages which occurred due to their very obvious negligence. Cons: Careless inattention, inferior equipment, damaging vehicles recklessly more
