IMPULSE THEATER

I was surprised to see all the great reviews when I went on to write this one. I am glad that most people think this is a great place to go cuz I like to see people succeed. We were with a group and didn't have to pay for our tickets thank god as I would have been really bummed. I love comedy and have had my share of good and bad but last night 1/22/2011 was the worst. It was so lame. We almost left at the intermission but decided to stay as to not be rude to our group we were with. Improv has got to be very difficult and praise those that can pull it off, but didn't care for this group. We couldn't always hear or see either. Was sad that it was such a disappointment. more

We have been to the Wynkoop Brewery many times but just last weekend found out that this place was in the basement. PUT UP A SIGN! This show was so amazing, so funny I can't believe I never went before. Everything was made up on the spot from comments from the audience members. But it was so funny it seemed like it was rehearsed, but we knew it wasn't because they used one of the comments we yelled out and did a great skit around it. We'll positively go back again! WOW WOW WOW!!! I absolutely L-O-V-E this place! Every night is different and fun! The cast there is so witty and clever. There is no way I could do what they do night in and night out! To be able to just make everything up as they go based off of a random suggestion provided by the audience- Spectacular!! Chris Woolf, Sara Vandas, Vic Milbrath, Jeff Parker and Adrian Holguin are the ones to catch! I've never seen a bad show when at least one of those actors are performing! also got to check out their new variety show - Aftermass and that was just great! Not just improv but music and dance and stand-up. nice to see new people on the stage at Impulse. Plus it's crazy how much you get out of the $5 to aftermass - a free beer, free pool and I think there were coupons on the back of the ticket for other free drinks. It'd be nice to see a short performance by Impulse at Aftermass one of these Sundays! Definitely would recommend Impulse and Aftermass to all of my friends and family! We had our company "holiday" party at Impulse Theatre this year and it was BY FAR THE BEST PARTY we've had since I started working here 6 years ago. The cast was incredibly funny and the show really high energy. The actors researched our company and put information about us in the show and imitated some of our management employees which was hysterical. Everyones still talking about the show. We'll definitely book them again for our p[arty next year. Pros: Entertainment is hysterical!!! Cons: It took a while to get drinks and refills delivered. more

Really enjoyed this show! It is a great place for a date. It was pretty crowded the night we went next time I will buy tickets before we go. Overall well worth the ticket price, we had a great time. Pros: Really funny! Cons: We were seated pretty far back and they took suggestions mostly from people in the front. more

I go to see this show about twice a year and I am NEVER disappointed! In fact, it seems to get better and better every time I go! One of the original cast members who I have not seen in a few years was performing last weekend and was funnier than ever. Great place to take a date, or your wife and inlaws. These guys don't advertise anywhere so make sure to tell everyone you know. Pros: Funny, Inexpensive, Fun more

My wife and I went to a show at a comedy club one night, and the Impulse theatre show the next. There was no comparison. The improvisation at the Impulse theatre was absolutely side-splitting. I have friends coming to town in a few weeks, and this will be our first stop. Pros: Not crowded, Good seating Cons: Hard to find more

Impulse Theater is definitely a must do if you're on a date downtown or for just anything! The cast of very quick witted and extremely talented improv players can put on one helluva show based soley on audience suggestions! It's VERY funny and really makes for one perfect night on the town. Wait staff is a bit slow sometimes, but the drink prices are decent. Ticket prices are $16 and that may sound pricey, but trust me, it's well worth it! Shows are Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and 9:45pm.
