Good atmosphere and food 7/16/2010

As a new restaurant , the place is very nicely decorated. Great floor space and outdoor balconies. The food was very good and diversified. The restaurant has an upscale feel but the menu pricing does not reflect this. I was shocked. The menu pricing is great. It is like eating in a high end restaurant but with pricing of a pizzeria but the main difference is the high end quality food. The manager told me when I questioned him on how this is possible with such a beautiful restaurant, he informed me that the wants to offer to everyone great product for a reasonable price. Good enough by me. They have out door dining and bar service overlooking the skyline of Manhattan. Great views. I expected the service to be slow knowing it was a new restaurant but although it was a little slow at first, being there a few times they have improved. This is expected. Overall, a great experience for a Park Slope dining/lounge experience. The restaurant and bar areas are on different levels, taking an elevator to each floor. Nice touch of elegance to this. The restaurant and bar are in the Hotel, one of the better hotels in New York area. I say thumbs up for the food, bar, excitement and fun. Pros: Food diversity and authentic Italian taste more

Fabulous Establishment 1/21/2010

This is one review I was eager to write because of the extraordinary experience I was able to have in the Vue Restaurant and Lounge. The service was unbelievable. Once the elevator doors opened, I felt like all the attention drifted to our direction. The friendly, and extremely attractive hostess took me to most comfortable table for me and my date to feel a little seclusion from the rest of the customers and offered a glass of great Champaign and sparkling water which of course I accepted. The service was great. They spoke to me as if they?ve known me all my life, which really impressed my date since it was the first time I?ve taken her out. The server, which was a good looking gentleman, was upfront of what thought was best on the menu. We ordered exactly what he recommended and it got me hooked. I now find myself driving all the way from Connecticut every weekend for that same dish. The drinks were incredible as well, I ordered the ?Deja Vue?, which is a bourbon drink that comes with fruit that contradict the strength of the upscale bourbon. My date was enjoying the taste of the ?Rooftop Breeze? that made her feel as if she was sitting on a beach on the coast of Mexico during sunset. I took a sip and it was fascinating. To top it all off, its like they knew we were on a first date, they brought out a complimentary dessert that was orgasmic. The taste and texture of the Cr?me Brulee was indescribable. We stood sitting down jus chatting and drinking and never did we have to ask for anything, it?s as if they knew exactly what we wanted. It was the best first date experience any of us ever had. I recommend the Vue Restaurant and Lounge to anybody for any occasion. Pros: Everything Cons: none more

Incredible Venue for a Private Event 1/5/2010

Patricio Balleza Provided by Partner
For the holidays, our staff members at New York Methodist Hospital discussed hosting our Holiday party an unbelievable two floor rooftop venue in Brooklyn called Vue. The part of a rooftop in Brooklyn gave my ears a buzz and intrigued myself and others on staff. The only issue that showed concern was the seated capacity. Our group count was approximately 75 guests. The manager of Vue assured us that the venue will be completely private for this occasion and that all our guests will indeed seat comfortably. When entering the rooftop, we were welcomed with glasses of champagne and hors d?oeuvres. As I am looking around, I am thinking "Hey, this place is really something! An unbelievable hidden gold mine in Park Slope." For about the first hour we had a cocktail hour including passed hors d?oeuvres and open bar while we waited for all our guests to arrive. Once the hour passed and the majority of our guests arrived, we moved one level down into the penthouse of the hotel which is the restaurant dining area. The entire dining was kept completely private for our event making me feel extremely comfortable and not worry about disturbing any guests beside me. In addition, one of our staff members created a slideshow with pictures of numerous events throughout the 2009 year. These made us all feel extremely welcomed and sold me to this venue. They really accommodated us! We had a four course prix fixe menu consisting of appetizers, soup or salad, entrees and dessert. I must say, it took me and several others quite some time to decide because every dish seemed so appealing and tempting. After dinner, something unordinary occurred. Vue's manager and our staff coordinator paired up for a quick announcement. He stated he was extremely excited to host our holiday party and worked with our coordinator in giving us something in return. He began handing out personalized discounted coupons for each individual that attended. I am thinking, "Wow! Not only is the food great and the decor beautiful but, now I have a huge reason to make this venue an every week destination. He however, was not done. He began shaking a small bag and pulled out a piece of paper with a name written on it. The person's name he announced sat three seats beside me and she was so excited for something of a surprise to everyone. Then, he announced that she won a complimentary dinner for two anytime she would like to return within a year. In my eyes, it was a pretty nice gesture and showed the personality of Vue. After the dinner passed, we were all welcomed by the manager back to the rooftop lounge for a complimentary drink. This indeed topped the night off! The majority of my guests and I began to unwind and remained there for almost the entire evening. Such an unbelievable night. One of the best corporate parties I have attended. Thank you Vue!! Pros: Great Ambiance, Amazing Food and Plating, Tentative Staff, Cons: Seating capacity is under 80 guests more

My New Spot 1/4/2010

It was a pleasant surprise finding Vue Restaurant. It is on the top floor of the silver tower on 4th, Hotel Le Bleu. A tower most Brooklynians will find seemingly out of place and the restaurant did not disappoint. As soon as the elevator doors opened we were greeted, sat and offered a glass of Champagne that my wife was more than happy to accept. The restaurant is decorated in whites and blues and the music is played softly. I haven?t such a nice quite diner in a while. I ordered the Mediterranean Sea Bass. The filet was cooked to perfection and served over tomatoes, mushrooms and artichokes. It was finished with a white wine and butter sauce. The dish left me completely satisfied with out feeling unpleasantly full. My wife had the Salmon but she didn?t want to share. I am definitely going to make this place one of my regular stops for date night. Pros: Excellent Food and Ambiance Cons: None more

Let?s talk about how well my date went at the Vue 1/3/2010

Let?s talk about how well my date went at the Vue... Me and my date fell in love not only with each other but with the entire experience at Vue, The Modern Decor is so beautiful I Have never seen anything like it. The Vue is Located on top of a Brand luxurious Hotel called "Hotel Le Bleu" which is located in one of Brooklyn Most Trendiest Neighborhoods. The 2 Level Restaurant & Lounge is located on the Penthouse Floor of the Hotel. Very convenient Location and Complimentary Valet Parking was a Plus! We were greeted and seated rite away by the Restaurant Host. We ordered Appetizers first, their Calamari is out of this world Delicious... I was salivating while reading their menu lol, the Entire Dinner was Awesome, not to mention their Specially Drinks which were better then anything i have ever had in the City. The Staff/Service was Excellent, I couldn?t ask for Better Service. After Dinner we decided to check out their second Level Rooftop Lounge which is an indoor Climate Controlled rooftop Lounge, which we had heard great things about from a few friends that recommended the lounge. We were greeted by the sounds of A Live Dj spinning some nice Tunes and we couldn?t resist, we finished our drinks from dinner there, after we order a few more drinks! The whole wonderful experience came with out of this world Views (I guess that?s why they call it the ?VUE? for the awesome View that you get. The Vue has an amazing 360 Degree View of the Entire Manhattan Sky line! My Date was awesome. I would definitely recommend the Vue to anyone. Vue Restaurant is exactly what Brooklyn Needed. Pros: Excellent Food, Good Service, Awesome Views, Free Valet Cons: None more

Simply Awesome 12/31/2009

The Vue's New Year's Eve celebration was even better than expected. My evening began with an amazing dinner in the 8th floor restaurant. The cuisine is quite unique for what I am accustomed to in Park Slope. As I scanned the menu, I noticed the variety in the dishes. I was also amazed to see the different Asian twists that were present in the mostly traditional American fare. Things like the Kobe beef burger and the Asian Pear Cole Slaw stood out. The waiter pointed out the Executive Chef at Vue was Chris Cheung. Now I understood how the menu could be so innovative, as I am quite familiar with Chef Cheung from my experiences at China One and Nobu. My waiter recommended the Fried Chicken that was paired with chive mashed potatoes and the asian pear cole slaw. I don't normally eat fried foods, but this seemed to good to pass up. I was anxious for my food to arrive, and when it finally did, a simple look at the plate could be enough to satisfy an individual. The wonderfully fried chicken was dressed with a sweet chili sauce unlike anything I've ever tried. The different layers of flavors: sweet, tang, spice, make my mouth water even now as I type this. The pear slaw was amazing. I've definitely never tried anything like it and was surprised to find how great the sweetness from the slaw complemented the chicken. As I finished my dinner I was informed of the New Year's Celebration that was going to happen later on in the evening. I came back to take part in the Vue's New Year's celebration and was surprised to find a wondeful ambiance with a live DJ. Although I am quite old fashioned, I was still able to enjoy myself while encountered with a jubilant young crowd. One of the highlights of the night were the excellent cocktails prepared by the bartenders. one also can't take for granted the incredible bar which spans about 25 feet. I would love to describe my evening further, but unfortunately I am currently in recovering mode from a long night at the wonderful Vue. Pros: Great food, Affordable, Wonderful look more

Neighborhood blight 11/13/2009

This club likes to throw open its windows every weekend, blast obnoxious music and keep the entire neighborhood awake. Management seems to completely ignore any requests to let people sleep. Please, please, please do not patronize this ridiculous blight on the neighborhood. Did I mention that it's on the ugliest street in the area, a six lane highway? And that it's next door to a Pep Boys auto repair shop and a yellow taxi garage? Everything I've always dreamed of. Pros: None Cons: Awful location, terribly unresponsive management. more
