For the holidays, our staff members at New York Methodist Hospital discussed hosting our Holiday party an unbelievable two floor rooftop venue in Brooklyn called Vue. The part of a rooftop in Brooklyn gave my ears a buzz and intrigued myself and others on staff. The only issue that showed concern was the seated capacity. Our group count was approximately 75 guests. The manager of Vue assured us that the venue will be completely private for this occasion and that all our guests will indeed seat comfortably.
When entering the rooftop, we were welcomed with glasses of champagne and hors d?oeuvres. As I am looking around, I am thinking "Hey, this place is really something! An unbelievable hidden gold mine in Park Slope." For about the first hour we had a cocktail hour including passed hors d?oeuvres and open bar while we waited for all our guests to arrive.
Once the hour passed and the majority of our guests arrived, we moved one level down into the penthouse of the hotel which is the restaurant dining area. The entire dining was kept completely private for our event making me feel extremely comfortable and not worry about disturbing any guests beside me. In addition, one of our staff members created a slideshow with pictures of numerous events throughout the 2009 year. These made us all feel extremely welcomed and sold me to this venue. They really accommodated us!
We had a four course prix fixe menu consisting of appetizers, soup or salad, entrees and dessert. I must say, it took me and several others quite some time to decide because every dish seemed so appealing and tempting.
After dinner, something unordinary occurred. Vue's manager and our staff coordinator paired up for a quick announcement. He stated he was extremely excited to host our holiday party and worked with our coordinator in giving us something in return. He began handing out personalized discounted coupons for each individual that attended. I am thinking, "Wow! Not only is the food great and the decor beautiful but, now I have a huge reason to make this venue an every week destination. He however, was not done. He began shaking a small bag and pulled out a piece of paper with a name written on it. The person's name he announced sat three seats beside me and she was so excited for something of a surprise to everyone. Then, he announced that she won a complimentary dinner for two anytime she would like to return within a year. In my eyes, it was a pretty nice gesture and showed the personality of Vue.
After the dinner passed, we were all welcomed by the manager back to the rooftop lounge for a complimentary drink. This indeed topped the night off! The majority of my guests and I began to unwind and remained there for almost the entire evening. Such an unbelievable night. One of the best corporate parties I have attended. Thank you Vue!!
Pros: Great Ambiance, Amazing Food and Plating, Tentative Staff,
