Speaking of house expenses, I recently had a faucet malfunction, so I figured it's about time to replace a couple of things around the house that has been irking me. I bought a rug here yesterday and I do have my eye on a new sink that they have on sale at the clearance isle. The only problem is that it is on clearance, so hopefully it'll still be there when I come back. I've upped my review to 3* by the way because of their excellent cinnamon buns. Mmmmm! more

My husband and I love visiting Ikea in Emeryville, and much of our home is currently adorned with Ikea wares. The store is enormous, and carries a huge selection of kitchen wares, lighting and gardening supplies, and of course, furniture, among other items! And the prices can’t be beaten. On the downside, it can be hard to find parking, despite the fairly recent addition of the multi-level parking garage onsite. And most of the time, the store is extremely crowded! In fact, if you stand still, you can frequently feel the floor moving under the weight of all of the shoppers. And naturally, you get what you pay for, so you can’t expect Ikea furniture to last for more than a few years of heavy, regular use (though I have a pair of Poang chairs that are still in excellent shape 5 years after I bought them). This Black Friday, take advantage of their sale prices on several items, including Magiker Bookcase Lighting for just $12.99. But definitely get there as early as possible, since the parking lot will most likely already be a zoo by the time the doors open! http://www.ikea.com more

I hate going here because it is, of course, deliberately laid out so that you have go to through the ENTIRE STORE no matter what you want. I have been there many, many times, and I get lost every single time. I am pretty sure that the folks on the floor are only there to help people find their way out before closing. On the bright side, I enjoy their cafe, where I can always find something I've never even heard of to eat. And they usually have free samples of cookies in the store at the exit. But goddamn. Also, I once filled out a very lengthy comment card after a horrible trip where I didn't buy anything because I couldn't get any help, got lost repeatedly, and couldn't get the heart-shaped ice cube trays I needed because they refused to restock from the tons of ice cube trays sitting right there in their warehouse until the ugly arrow- and x-shaped ones they had sold out... which they were never going to because every one of them was dirty and bent out of shape... and I never heard a single word back from them. more

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this IKEA. It is a huge store and you can find everything that you want here. And the prices are very affordable. I love walking through their showcases beacuse you are able tosee eveything det up. This makes shopping so much easier beacuse you don't have to imagine everything from a box. the store is in a prime location with alot of parking. For all those people that want beautiful items at affordable prices, then visit IKEA. Its great more

Good lord, now a days everyone has stuff from Ikea, but I just cannot believe how chaotic everything is in the Emeryville store. The showfloors look wonderful, of course, but the distribution floor is absolutely insane. So often your product will not be on the bottom and you see it just on the shelf above, but you can't get it and the store doesn't allow workers to get it for you--you have to -come back- the next day to pick it up. For people like myself who travel far to go to Ikea, it's a huge disappointment. Also, you'll never find a worker on the distribution floor, just to let you know. But the foodcourt is so good and is such a great deal. Overall, the store is really good, its just a jungle to get through. more

I have visited the IKEA in Emeryville a few times. This store has it all. They have great easy to find parking, a inexpensive restaurant, and great items. A trip to IKEA usually takes us all day. We end up spending many hours in there. We look through each room, and get ideas on how to decorate, and the products that are out there. We normally don't walk out of the store spending less than a $100. We love to get home and decide where our new finds will go, and the great deals that we have walked away with. more

Great deals on furniture. This is not the highest quality of furniture but you can't beat the value for the price. The store is huge and can be a bit daunting at first but over all it is a fun experience. The cafe makes spectacular food at bargain basement prices. more

The IKEA here has excellent parking- a large parking lot structure probably as large as the store. The cafe serves good Swedish-style cooking at a very cheap price and also offers a market where people can buy Swedish processed goods at a very good price. There aren't many Swedish people here in the Bay Area and there are very few markets which cater to Swedish cuisine...however, IKEA does do that and beyond. I highly recommend this IKEA for its food and its large selection of home furnishings. The prices are pretty standard, but make sure you check out the pre-assembled "returned" items - they can be up to half off, which is a really good deal. Everything in IKEA is pretty cheap and affordable -- that's why IKEA is a college student's dream store. more

The Ikea in Emeryville is a fun place to be even if you're not shopping for yourself. I like to go there sometimes just for ideas around the home. My wife was very anti-Ikea when we were shopping for furniture because she felt quality was generally subpar. However, after about 6 months in our house, we have at least 5 pieces of furniture from IKEA! I think quality does suffer in the really cheap items they sell. After all that shopping, on your way out you can get a hot dog for 25 cents. more

This is a huge store 274,000 SQ Ft of furniture and home furnishings. The floor seems to have this permenant movement to it so it feels like an earthquake.You can choose every aspect down to the draw handles and colour of the wood. They have alot of demo rooms set up so you can get some idea of what a room would look like full of the furniture. You have to assemble most of the furniture yourself when you get it home but it comes with everything you need and very clear instructions. I love this place stop by their restaurant for the Chef Special Swedish meatbals and gravy - yummy They added an extra parking structure which makes it alot easier to park than it used to be the parking used to be a nightmare more
