Hyundai San Francisco

I have no idea how this place is rated #1 in the Bay Area. It has been three days and my rear door is still not repaired. THREE DAYS. This is not a major repair and I have no idea why it has taken this long. The first day I took it in they lubricated the lock and told me it was fixed. Got halfway back to work and it still wasn't working. Took it back the next day and they determined they had to order a whole new lock. So they told me to bring it back the following day (today). Brought it in today and they did not have the part even though it supposedly overnighted. They said it won't even come in until this evening! I asked why they couldn't even have the common courtesy to call to tell me that before I drove over from the East Bay and they didn't have an answer. They offered me a rental car so I could leave my car there which makes not an iota of sense. My car will just be sitting until the part arrives and I'll have to worry about picking up/returning/insurance on a rental. I just really cannot believe the inefficiency of this service department. The communication is piss poor. Everyday I've had to call them to check on the status of my car. Shouldn't they call and update me? That's always been my experience with other dealerships. This is my first Hyundai and I love my car but they've put a really sour taste in my mouth. Crossing my fingers that other service departments in the Bay aren't this horrible because I will never, and I mean never ever, EVER bring my car to this service department again after this repair is complete. And I suggest you don't either if you value your time and energy. I'd give them zero stars if I could. more

Brought my 2007 Hyundai in for routine service, had noticed oil on the driveway. Car was paid off in January and i debated for 6 weeks about whether to take it to a less expensive independent garage. Turned out that the oil leak was major, requiring almost 30 hours of labor. Unbeknownst to me, we had an extended warranty which covered the 4K plus repair. The staff at Hyundai found it registered under my VIN. It was a minor miracle for which i'm extremely grateful. Car is now running great. I plan to get at least another 75K miles out of this vehicle...! Dealer service is not cheap but i will never waiver again. more

Brought my vehicle in for an oil change, the process took well over an hour, and it took until the end of the process for the service advisors to call to find out what was, and was not, included in my prepaid maintenance program. Really, not a good first stop. more
