They must write their own reviews to bump up good ratings. If you look on the internet you can see a lot of unhappy customers. Their prices are extreme and anyone who doesn't check at least four to five other places, get what they deserve. I got an estimate for a lighting project from Hyman Electric for over a grand. Three other places were around $500. Needless to say I went with the least expensive and got high quality work from another contractor. The contractor said that Hyman has the tendency to mark up work to the extreme - Charging more just to pad the pocket. In talking with the owner, I found him to be very abrasive and rude. If you are on a budget, Hyman Electric is NOT for you. Save your money and give it to a more deserving electrical company. more

Incredible experience. I needed to have some light fixtures installed. When I called the office they were helpful and were able to give me an appointment. The technician called back the day of the of the appointment to confirm his arrival time. The technicians arrived on time. Clean and neat in there work. Good sense of humor and stayed on task. Light looks great and they even took the boxes from the new light etc. to the trash for me. They gave me a price when they looked at the work and fixtures that I had and it was exactly what I had expected to pay for the professional service that I received. I would recommend them to anyone in need of quality electrical work at a reasonable price. more

I suggest you get at least four other estimates before settling with this company. Their prices are greedy especially in this economy. You can do a lot better somewhere else and get better service. more

We have an older house (1960's) and wanted to have the fuse box replaced with new circuit breakers as well as a heavy up performed to allow us to have additional power brought in. Hyman Electric showed up on time for the estimate, and while a bit higher than a few of the others, they were thorough professional and better suited for the project. They worked around our schedule to pick a date for the service, showed up on time and were very professional! (It rained while they were working outside on the new lines and they got soaked! When they came back into our house, they put down tarps and removed their shoes to prevent our carpets from getting dirty! I am a picky person so this was a big plus for me!!). They removed the old panel box and fuses and installed new circuit breakers and new ground lines. They finished in a timely manner and well within their estimate. I would certainly recommend them for heavy up service. In fact, we are thinking of adding some additional recessed lighting into our living room and we will most certainly use them again!
