We test drove a car on Saturday, paid $500 and signed contract for that vehicle, they did not put the VIN number on that paper work. We picked up the car on Tuesday, 2 hours to fill out paperwork. When the assistant delivered the car to us it was filthy as if it had just been turned in from a lease that day. We were upset and they ultimately agreed to a free Full Detail, but did not apologize.
The next day we saw the paperwork and the mileage was different on the car than on the DMV form submitted to the DMV.
They switched the cars because they were identical in color and model, but the one they gave us on Tuesday had a dent and was filthy.
They refused to return the car to buy a new one since we didn't trust them with their used ones. Especially the multipoint inspection, since they can't manage to vacuum the car how can they thoroughly inspect the safety and condition of the vehicle? They can't, so we have contacted NY attorney general and will proceed with a lawsuit.
Car dealers are all the same.
