Can we say ""over priced""? I mean, come on. $17 for a pasta soup? Kept wipping my chin everytime I took a spoonful. I ordered Chicken Penne Gonzola and it was nothing special. ...

We ate dinner at Hunters Chophouse in Estes Park on Mothers Day, and it was FABULOUS! My daughter ordered the Buffalo Rib-Eye, and it was grilled to perfection; tender and full of flavor. My Dad and I each had a pulled pork sandwich, and he said it was the best he's ever had--he loved the BBQ sauce! My husband enjoyed his pork chop, and my 5 year old grandson (who wasn't hungry) loved his french fries, and bites of everyone else's food. The service was great! We've never had a bad meal at this restaurant--but during tourest season it can be too long a wait--so try to make reservations. more

In addition to our usual Marinated Steak Salads, members of our party also had Fish 'N Chips, Elk Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and Club Salad. All of the meals were really good. The salads were exceptional. Both their raspberry and red wine vinaigrette dressings were wonderful. more

They have a wide range of local food. We tried a wild game sampler which had local meats in brat form(elk, boar, buffalo and carribou) and then we had the trout for our meal which was good size with lots of flavor. more

Me and my girlfriend were new to town. So we stopped at HCH before heading towards the main town as we were really hungry. I ordered a Prime Rib and my girlfriend had Rib eye. It was so good. We really liked the food and believed that we had never tried such good food ever anywhere else. The environment is very nice and the service is really good too. The owner himself came to us to check if everything was fine with the service and on our table. How nice of him.\r I would definitely go back there to eat sometime later and highly recommend everyone to visit HCH atleast once.. more

Was located right off of Lake Estes, just outside of the downtown area. Atmosphere was lodgy yet very classy. Menu selection was amazing, way more then a typical chop house. Menu items seemed to have a little flair added to them instead of your normal home cooking recipe. more

I made reservations at the Hunter's Chop House in Estes Park CO for a wedding rehearsal dinner.\r I emailed Don - the owner, back and forth several times to ask questions and confirm our reservation. When the time came, the staff was amazing, the food, wonderful, and the atmosphere was perfect. I was so delighted with the whole experience. Don and Mandy were so gracious and kind and our servers were professional and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our rehearsal dinner than at the Hunter's Chop House. We liked the food so much that we went there the next 2 days for lunch with others from our family who came in for the wedding and they also loved the food and atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. more

This is the best resturaunt I have been to in a long time..for starters we had the wild game sampler. I had the Buffalo Ribeye (( Yummy )) and my boyfriend had the Bacon wrapped Filet with a Burgundy mushroom sauce.... I'm not a big dessert fan but my boyfriend loves carrot cake.... So we got it and boy was I glad...... I would go back for the dessert alone..... I'm sure it's not good for the waist line but it sure did taste good.... If your in the area I deffinatly recommend stopping here for dinner.... And the owner is a complete doll.... I heard from the waitress that he won a few of the local chilli cook offs too..... Wish that was on the menu..... All in all great place would come again... more

Our hotel recommended Hunters for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by how great it was for a small town restaurant. Staff was friendly, and the food was reasonably priced. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet and it was excellent. more

While our stay at the Stanley hotel, one of the staff recommended the chop house restaurant, the decor was just amazing like WOW ! we had stakes burgers and wild game sampler, our food was delicious, the staff are very friendly, kind and polite. Service was perfect and we even had a chance to talk to the owners of the restaurant who were pretty cool. Looks like we found our favorite restaurant in Estes Park. more

When asked where was a good place to eat from the locals in Estes Park, most of them said Hunters. I must say the Cod fish was the best I have ever had and it was quite a lot for the serving. My husband had the grilled trout and it could not have been cooked any better. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was served with some kind of a sweet spicy sauce and was outstanding. The local beer that they had on tap was really good as it was a honey wheat beer. My father had the New York streak with grilled onions and it came just the way he said he wanted it and was seasoned really nice. My mother had the Prime Rib and said it was one of the best she has ever had. When we come back to visit Estes Park we will definitely be eating at Hunters. more

Can we say ""over priced""? I mean, come on. $17 for a pasta soup? Kept wipping my chin everytime I took a spoonful. I ordered Chicken Penne Gonzola and it was nothing special. As you're looking for a nice dinner in this charming little town, do your research & make a reservation somewhere else. Pros: Quick seating without reservation. Cons: Less than average, overpriced food. Doesn't matter how you want your meat done, it's gonna be 'well done' more
