When we planned our trip to this museum, I was expected a ho-hum trip and maybe to find it a 'little' enjoyable. Boy, was I wrong. I had no idea I had such a passion for art before visiting this place. There were so many varieties of mediums, watercolor painting, oil paintings, clay forms, carvings, recycling art, and many other unique art forms that I'd never seen before. Even the abstract art was very interesting to view & seeing one artist's style in contrast to another artist was very powerful.
Our trip definitely stirred an art interest in myself, my daughter & husband, which really surprised me. Since then I've had a renewed interest in pencil sketching, and painting, as has my daughter & husband.
We were also pleased to see a children's area in the museum where children have different manipulatives & lots of fun activities. My daughter didn't want to leave at this point of the trip especially.
Before we left, we found out that the museum has many day camps & summer camps for budding young artists who want to expand their horizons. THe museum also had a few cafeteria areas to eat in & their food was pretty good. I can definitely recommend this as a great family field trip!
