This little BBQ joint is located on the north side of the 10 on Vincent Avenue. It's been around forever, and stays in business because of the great BBQ. All of the ribs are great, but the beef ribs stand out. \r \r Try the BBQ, and don't forget the sweet potatoe pie! Pros: Great Ribs more

Best Texas Style BBQ 9/10/2009

I've lived in the area a few blocks away for over ten years but I've never even thought about trying it until recently my bf told me about this cute place. It was amazing, the beef rib is outstanding and becomes our favorite. My bf loves to BBQ himself and I remember one day he said something like ""my sauce is as good as Hungry Al's now, but where does he get the ribs?"" We now order ribs from it regularly. Note that it closes on maybe Sunday (not sure) once a month. So better check before you head there. Pros: Cute Friendly Delicious Cons: Barely Visible more

SG Valley's BEST BBQ is a well-kept secret! 8/26/2006

The tiny sign is barely visible as you drive onto the 10 freeway southbound off of Vincent Ave. I had always seen it for years as I drove from the shopping center. Little did I know that in this small, unassuming strip mall there stands the BEST BBQ joint in the San Gabriel Valley! Hungry Al's is easily overlooked, nestled among insurance offices and other small businesses. The interior is pretty barebones as well, but there are tables for those eating on the go. The food is truly remarkable, and the sweet, smokey scent of the meat will definitely get your cravings revved. The pork spareribs are huge and meaty, and the meat falls off the bone. The baby back ribs are sensational as well. The links are some of the best I've ever had, tender and flavorful, not tough like some other BBQ places. I love throwing some of the delicious link slices in with the amazing BBQ beans. The BBQ chicken is a real winner here! First of all, the sheer SIZE of the pieces is incredible. The huge, plump legs looked more like turkey legs than chicken! But the flavor was definitely some of the best BBQ chicken I've ever had - tender and juicy, swimming in the spicy flavor of the glazed sauce. The potato salad and collard greens accented the meat nicely. Hungry Al's takes full advantage of their smoke pit, with BBQ turkey on the menu! They even offer to smoke your own Turkeys and Hams! I remember Norm Calvin used to offer this service at his old Rib Factory restaurant in Norwalk! It's a great idea for special occasions or holiday dinners. Hungry Al's is a must for BBQ lovers who decide on quality and flavor versus ""ambience"". Pros: Generous portions of quality meat, delicious side dishes Cons: There are tables, but it's really a take out place...hard to find...small parking lot more

Real Southern BBQ 4/25/2006

The beef ribs with spicy sauce put me in complete rib heaven. Al is the best I've ever tasted. The place is not fancy, but the service was friendly, and the food is no nonesence southern bbq, that is so good it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you love bbq, you have to try Al's. Pros: Food, service Cons: divey joint more

Finger Licken? 10/6/2002

Not quite, but when you want some sloppy ribs, a side of potato salad, sliced white bread, and a lil bit of sweet potato pie, then this Mom & Pop place is where you should go. After cooked, the ribs are dipped into what taste like a vinegar based sauce. It's not the best, but it will do. Great for take out, or picnics. Pros: Friendly Staff more
