Humane Society

found a cat to adopt Monday. Completed an application then was told it had to go to vets and was not adoptable. I asked to have it on hold for me and they said they don't do that. Tuesday, I called to see if it was adoptable, and they don't answer the phone, so I left a message to call back. Did not hear back so I drove there at 2 PM and they said the cat had been adopted by someone else. Wednesday, I called the executive director and again I had to leave a call back number. It's now Friday and no call back. My questions would have been: 1. At age 81 did they find a younger person to adopt this 5 month old cat? Did they use outreach and find someone else to adopt it? What a farce! I make monthly donations to another animal rescue center and would have here. Sure won't now and would not recommend others to do so. Go elsewhere. more

We just adopted a beautiful 2 year old Lab/Mix. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the way the meet and greet and adoption was handled. We did a few weeks foster care due to our 2 cats. He was very timid and cautious of people. We are not sure what happened in his past life. With love and patience from the staff at Waterville and our love and patience at home, he is the sweetest and loving cuddle bug. I can't thank Chris, Karen and the rest of the staff that made this happen. I have been raving to everyone about the help we have received from the staff and would recommend checking out this shelter for your next furbaby. Ellen B more

don't be fooled by that trust score. this place will knowingly give you a rabies infested animal without bating an eye. and don't ever let them hold an animal you may be interested in. chances are good they will kill it. there is no respect given by the people there, and on top of that they are super rude. the people there also have an annoying holier than thou attitude. the poor animals are suffering in that house of madness. more

I adopted a cat there and the cat had fleas, ear mites, round worms, bacteria in her colon. She peed everywhere and had the runs. When I called the humane society they said to me oh well I do not know what to tell you she was healthy when she left here really, it started the first day we got her. Our couch and carpet are ruined I will never get another animal from them again. It is sad because those poor animals are not taken care of. We had her for 17 days and we have spent about 300.00 0n vet bills and now we have to replace our furniture 2500.00 dollars worth I am not happy. more

I brought a kitten into the shelter that i noticed had been sleeping under cars at night and hang around outside. I took the kitten home hoping my mother would let me keep it and that was a no. When i brought the kitten in they were very rude and put out, especially Donna. She tried arguing with me, telling me the state police can take care of strays, are you kidding me. You would think if you worked at the humaine society you would care, i felt very uncomfortable to have to leave the cat there. Im am going back in a couple days to see if the cat is all right. more
