My wife and I just got back from a trip to Vegas and ate at Hugo's Cellar for the first time. I'm not sure about the two reviews before mine (They seem to have a personal beef wi...

We?ve been going to Hugo?s for the last 14 yrs for our anniversary, the first couple of years were great but as time progressed the food wasn?t up to par ( very inconsistent) and ...

My husband and I received gift certificates to Hugo's as a wedding gift and dined there on our honeymoon. I must say it was truly a dining experience. From the moment thehostess set the rose on the table to thetime we left the restaurant everything was perfect. The little touchs, such as the rose butter, the chocolate covered fruit, the real whipped cream served with the coffee, were wonderful. My glass never had more than one taste out of it and someone was pouring. It was a dining experience we'll always remember and can't wait to try again. Pros: romantic, great service, delicious food Cons: pricey, no parking more

A Romantic Night Out 5/7/2003

My Wife and I went to Hugo's on our 25th anniversary. I wanted a special night for her and we got it. The overall experience was wonderful. The food was very good, try the hot rock appetizer. The wait staff was an interesting mix and added to the night. The most I've spent on a meal, but worth it, and I'm cheap. Pros: Romantic, lots of attention, food Cons: expensive more

Worth a trip to Vegas alone! 2/10/2003

Wonderful atmosphere. Great service. I crave another meal. I have recommended it to my friends who are planning a trip to Vegas in March. Pros: Intimate, Delicious, Value more

A night of indulgence 12/3/2002

After years of being urged, I finally dined at Hugo's a few weeks ago. Yes, Hugo's can cost you a good chunk of change that you won't be spending at the roulette table, but with the excellent service and the wonderful food...you should gladly pay the price. I know I did. From the best vodka gimlets I have EVER had to the complimentary chocolate dipped strawberries, our meal was top notch. Escargot in butter and garlic were tender beneath a crisp puff pastry crust. The salads made to order tableside were a nice touch in personalizing the meal, especially with a small serving of lemon sorbet to cleanse your palate afterward. The waitstaff was efficient, friendly, and almost psychic in meeting our wants for the evening. The atmosphere is perfect for a business dinner or a romantic evening, although it can get a little loud if very busy. Pros: amazing staff, roses for the ladies, world's best gimlets Cons: can get a little loud more

excellent 11/14/2002

I have eaten here 5 times The food is excellent, the price was fair the service was excellent. Nice restaurant! Pros: good value, atmosphere Cons: its in wrong hotel more

Diamond in the rough! 11/8/2002

A young businessman who traveled the world suggested going to ""Hugos"" in old Vegas. He is wealthy and can afford any resturant in Vegas, and said, ""This is the place to eat"". WE ARE DEVOTEES! WE ARE HUGE FANS. There were 12 of us and we had the large room off to the side of the dining area. We had a 4 or 5 course meal. The Somelier was extremely knowlegeable on the wines. They have an extensive and sophisticated wine cellar. The food was so well done. The coffee was freshly brewed at our table. The dessert tray was to die for. And its pricer than most old Vegas spots, but definitely well within the range of eating on the strip. Actually the value here is better than most strip hotels, so you get alot for a mid-priced meal! Pros: Steak, Fish, Cocktails/Wines, Atmosphere Cons: Nothing bad here! more

It is my all time favorite place to dine. The service and food is beyond excellent Pros: Outstanding Food, Service, Ambience Cons: Bathrooms are distant more

Hugo Mongo Bummo 10/10/2002

My wife and I have been going to Hugo's on and off for about eight years. We've had great meals and not-so-great. The most recent was the worst -- not because of the food, but the service was abysmally slow and the management downright rude. I think the place is becoming a little tired. There are far too many great restaurants on the Strip to make a special trip for an eatery that doesn't try to earn its reputation. Pros: Food Cons: Service more

EXCELLENT 9/12/2002

Great food, service and wine list. Salad prepared tableside adds a dimension. Long stem rose to every woman also helps to put this restaurant one step above. Pros: service, on time reservations Cons: poor valet parking more

Elegant Old Las Vegas 8/28/2002

Best Service and Atmosphere around. Food was well worth every penny. more

The atmosphere is like an envelope 8/3/2002

This is my favorite most romantic spot in Las Vegas. The Servers and Chefs are the best in the world. The flavors are and service and ambience wrap you up and snuggle you like a big fluffy blanket. It's like your in a whole other world when you are there. more

9.5 7/31/2002

Best little hide-away 7/31/2002

Located inside The Four Queens restaurant. Great restaurant, service, food, sommelier is very good (whether your spending $20-200 bottle of vino). Only place I know where every woman that dines there, gets a beautiful long stemmed rose. Pros: very intimate locale, good service, excellent food Cons: hard to find, lighting too dimmed more

Unexpected Romance 7/29/2002

Lots of locals don't think of downtown casinos as romantic but Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens is quiet, dimly lit, exceptional food and roses for all the ladies. A little pricey and well worth it. Pros: Delicious food, Romantic atmosphere, Excellect Service more

slap in the face 7/17/2002

Do not consider Hugo's if you are planning a special occasion. I made arrangements weeks in advance for a 50th surprise wedding anniversary and they were not ready for us. We had to surprise our parents in the bar lobby area because they didnt have the room ready. Hugo's even suggested that we 'Mill Around the Casino'. When I wrote to them about our letdown - we were ignored. It's all a facade - they do not care about their patrons (and the food is only average) I've dinned in finer resturants in Denver Colorado Cons: overpriced, crowded, phoney more
