Great Customer Service and Photos 10/20/2010

Had to post my extremely positive experience with Bruce and the team at Hudson's following my purchase on LivingSocial. My sister and I spent over an hour in our consultation appointment reviewing his portfolio and discussing the overall look and feel of the portrait, as well being pleasantly surprised to learn that he was willing to do an outdoor session (the deal was for an in-studio session only). The quality of his work, the professionalism of everyone involved, including prompt follow-up calls, and an interest to get to know us and what we wanted to express in this special Xmas gift will have me using and referring to Bruce and his studio again. The amazing deal that we received (sitting fee, 9X12 portrait and a 5X7 for less than $100 - unheard-of price for a professional, quality photographer!!) was just icing on the cake! more

Shocked & disappointed by Bruce Hudson's bad client service 10/13/2010

Bruce is a very talented photographer. Unfortunately, even though I love high-quality photos, I felt so uncomfortable interacting with him that I got a refund on a LivingSocial portrait deal where I could have had 80% off his services. I have worked with a few other outstanding photographers in Seattle and they all have their own personality quirks, well, they're successful and creative artists so that's to be expected. However, I will not deal with being condescended to and made to feel as though I am an annoyance for asking a couple of questions about possible locations for the photo shoot. I talked with Bruce for exactly three minutes. Apparently this was far too long for him to talk to a brand new, inquiring customer, because he took my name and number and said ""I will call you back tomorrow."" This in and of itself wasn't so bad, but after I gave him my name and number, he said, ""Living Social,"" in a tone of voice as though he had a fly in his expensive dinner. ""I will TRY to call you back tomorrow."" I was so shocked at his snobbishness (He had initially been pleasant) that I only said ""Okay."" He did NOT call me back. When I called back the next afternoon, I got voicemail... and I never got a return call. I understand that he would have been taking a pay cut from his normal rates, but it was his choice to list his business on LivingSocial. Why did he list on LivingSocial if he is so irritated about working with customers who found his business that way? I am the sort of person who gives about 95% of businesses and products a high rating, and I almost never ask for a refund on anything. I think I have asked for a refund three times in my entire life, and I am in my early thirties. I was very sorry I purchased the LivingSocial deal to work with Bruce. I would never use his business again. Unless you are extremely wealthy and also famous, in which case Bruce would probably treat you well, I suggest you don't use his business either. more

Hudson's Designer Portraits 6/24/2010

My family has used Bruce's services for years and we have always been thrilled with his portraits. His wedding coverage was excellent. We sat down before the event so he could make a list of the pictures I especially wanted - generational pictures of both families, wedding prep, etc. Everything that was on the list, he got. (And some extra shots we added along the way.) We had two engagement session as well, one at our Alma mater in Bellingham, one on a ferry. The photos were amazing. There were so many to choose from. Bruce made what could have been an overwhelming experience very easy. The whole family got together and he had snacks and drinks and projected our pictures onto his viewing wall in the studio. He's been very helpful in picking out the best pictures and finalizing the layout of our album. Bruce is not a snap & shoot amateur. He has been photographing weddings for over 20 years and has the experience to get the perfect shot every time. He is not the cheapest photographer out there, but why would you want your photos - the only things that are eventually left to remember your day - to be Walmart value? Hudson's is worth every penny. Pros: Fabulous pictures, Bruce is very easy to work with more

A experience with Hudson's Designer Portraits 4/20/2006

Well where do I start first he was supposed to take photos of the groom getting ready and never did he only got the bride getting ready then they also got the wrong date on my album and then everytime I turn around he wants more and more money for what some second rate photos we payed 6,000 dollars that was a waste of money if you ask me my sister in law took photos too with a nikon d70 and they were just as good if not better in some cases for free wow wish I spent that money on something better. I would not recommend Hudson's Designer Portraits to anyone............... more
