KEEP YOUR CHILD AWAY! Please don't go here. They messed up my 7 year old son's mouth so badly he had to get surgery to fix it. The bottom line there is MONEY. They will do unnecessary work to up your bill and they will use cheap materials. They are very unprofessional. I wish I had read all these reviews before I put my son through this. Dr. Hudec was all very rude to me, but that is very minor considering how much they hurt my son. Please find someone else. It was such a bad experience I feel responsible for putting it out there for others to know. If you have MEDICAID MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO TO HUDEC! They compensate for the lower pay back. Just go somewhere else. more

I DO NOT recommend Hudec, I went in with pain and left with pain and feeling embarassed because the doctor suggested that I only wanted pain pills. He never offered a solution to my pain. I will Never return to Hudec at any location. more

Do NOT GO HERE!!! 1/4/2012

Well, I'll start with saying I am 17 years old. I have healthy teeth. I've never had a cavity in my life, but I go to hudec dental and am told I have some.. So I go in to get them filled. Dr. Richard Kun is drilling on my teeth and I feel something break off and go down my throat? Uh, I highly doubt that's normal. Next I hear him say ""well that ones messed up now I can't fix this cavity we're gunna have to give her a root canal"" yeah, good job saying you messed up right in front of the patient. So then I text my dad and tell him I now need a root canal. My dad comes back and starts asking the ""doctor"" why? Dr. Kun tells him its because while he was drilling he exposed the nerve. My dad says ""so basically you drilled too much and now there's no other option but a root canal?"" dr. Richards then gets defensive and rude to my dad, takes his mask off, and says ""I'm not working on your daughter since you don't have confidence in me"" my dad says ""you're just going to let her go home with an exposed nerve?"" And the doctor just walks away and leaves. Would I be on pain pills right now if the dentist was doing his job right? No, I would not. Immediately after this I went to a real dentist and he tells me a root canal is not even necessary and I just need a filling. Thanks a lot hudec dental. Like I said, don't go there. Oh and my dad is considering a lawsuit. more

worst dentist ever. DO NOT GO HERE. 11/29/2011

First of all, this place does not even deserve one star. It is the worst dentist I have ever been too. First of all, let me start off by telling you I am a 19 year old girl who takes care of her teeth, but hasn't been to the dentist in awhile, due to financial reasons. I had a pain in my tooth, and so I went to the Hudec dentist office in Strongsville, OH. They told me my two of my teeth I would have to have two root canals. I forget the exact amount it was going to cost, but it was very very expensive. I got the first root canal there, and the actual procedure wasn't that bad. So, since I hated them there, I went to another dentist, and they told me I had a deep cavity, which MAY have to have a root canal. They would have to first open the tooth up to see. Hudec dental NEVER did this.. they just said went ahead and did it right away. Oh, and guess what? I didn't need another root canal at all. Just a cavity. I doubt that either one ever even required a root canal. And the price for a root canal at my new dentist... HALF of what hudec charged me. oh & even if you happen to have perfect teeth with no flaws, please still plan on waiting a good hour at this dentist. because they are always 'short staffed' every time I went there it was the same excuse. oh & the dentist hygentists are extremely rude as well. DON'T GO THERE. more

Hudec Dental in Euclid, OH 9/6/2011

I went to Hudec Dental because I had some toothaches in 2010. Dr. Christopher informed me that I needed a root canal on the right side and a filling in a decayed tooth on the left. His assistant took Xrays and than the process started to do the root canal on the right side of my mouth. Dr. Christopher completed it the same day. I asked was he finished with it completely he told me yes.It was done in about 1/2 hour! This was my first root canal. (So I thought) Then, He mentioned that I could schedule an appointment to come back to get a filling on the left side. I asked shouldn't I have a crown on this tooth. He looked like he was surprised I asked about this. He responded yes. I knew my insurance wouldn't cover it but I should have still been informed about the crown regardless of my insurance. This procedure could have been paid for out of my pocket. I thought that unprofessional and not fair to have not said anything about a crown. I was given prescriptions. A couple days passed and I was in bad pain and called the dental office. Then, the following week at work my tooth broke. I was given appointment for August 26 at 3pm for the left filling. While there I told the Dentist I had called about the severe pain with the root canal. I told him my tooth had broke off too. Dr. Christopher asked, ""How do you know that you're in pain?"" Root canal and then they forgot to fill it! 12/12/2010

I recently visited Hudec Dental in Euclid. It was unpleasant from the begining. \r \r Dr. Christopher is not very nice AT ALL. \r \r I went there expecting to get a cleaning and maybe a couple cavities filled at most. I was told that same day I needed a ROOT CANAL that same day. I went through with it and was told to come back in a couple of weeks to get a few cavities filled.\r \r I went back and that is when they finished the root canal and filled all the cavities on the left side of my mouth. Little did I know until 2 hours later after the novacaine wore off that I had a massive hole in the same tooth they had done the root canal on as well as a gapping hole in another tooth they were supposed to fill. I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN. \r Mind you the girl that filled my cavities was obviously not skilled and Dr. Christopher didn't even check my teeth after she was done filling cavities and such. I though this was a routine thing that the dentist is supposed to check after his ""assistant"" has done work on his patient.\r \r I went back a couple days later to get the holes fixed and when I pointed out the holes they tried to tell me ""OH THEY MUST HAVE FALLEN OUT"" I said, ""They were never filled!"" they made me feel like I was lying. \r \r So, I get the SAME ""assistant"" that missed the holes the first time was the one filling them now. She filled the hole in my rootcanal and then told me I was good to go. I was like, ""what about the other hole I have in my other tooth?"" She goes ""oh yeah.."" and proceeded to fill that.\r \r WHAT THE HELL I HAD TO REMIND HER THERE WERE MORE HOLES THAT NEEDED TO BE FILLED.\r \r Then, when she was done Dr. Christopher didn't bother looking at my teeth again. How unprofessional.\r \r So NOW I HAVE TOOTH PAIN I NEVER HAD BEFORE I WENT TO HUDEC DENTAL. Before I went to Hudec I had no tooth pain now it hurts to eat, drink... I am in so much pain it radiates up the side of my face. \r \r DO NOT GO HERE! \r \r I have another appointment on the 30th I will not be going. It was a horrific and terrible experience. They treat you like a child and belittle you. I was belittled because I was scared of having a root canal that I didn't know I was going to have until 5 minutes before It was preformed. \r \r It hurt when he was drilling and he asked me if I was sure that it hurt. I SAID IT HURT AND IT HURT. NOW I'M IN CONTINUING PAIN IN TEETH I NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH BEFORE I WENT. I could go on and on. more

Good Child Experience 11/20/2010

I have a child who has been terrified of going to the dentist because of the shot... Went to hudec three or four times and every time the dentist wasn't able to even get started... Was about to go elsewhere then was scheduled with an new young dentist. Dr. Hardy seemed at ease with my son and when he entered the room and was able to give the shot and finish all the work while Dr. Hardy gave all the credit to my son for doing such a good job at helping him fix his teeth so they don't hurt anymore. I don't know if I can express how much of a miracle this was to me as we have tried before to get the work done... So it took us a couple of times but I found the right dentist for my son at hudec more

Crown Complaints. 11/20/2010

We fell on some hard times and had to rely on Caresource for our dental coverage. I needed to have some dental work done that included crowns. They didnt give me any other option then stainless steel. Ever since I have struggled with recurring gum issues, I had a teeth cleaning and they told me that my gums were being irritated by the crowns and that I would need custom work done now and it wasnt covered nor cheap. I wish they would have explained what the dangers of these crowns would be vs. custom crowns before they did the work because now I am suffering and have no options anymore because of what they did. I have one custom crown from years ago and it never gave me any problems so when they said that I needed the stainless steel ones I just thought it was going to be like my other one and not a problem other then the different color. Now I have no options other then to live with the pain. more

Heartbreaking, scarring experience 12/1/2009

I used to work for this company at the Memphis location. I know all of what goes on behind closed doors. I worked with Dr. Mark Henline and let me tell you that this is more than being a disgruntled employee. The doctor would make fun of patients in front of other patients like the time there was an autisitic child which was making a lot of loud noises from the other room. Dr. Henline proceeded to say to me and the patient in our room, ""Man, what is wrong with that kid...he's like 10 years old and is throwing a fit! You'd think he'd be old enough not to throw tantrums like that."" I, then, told him that the child was mentally challenged and all he did was laugh and said, "" Oops!"" What??? After you, as a patient, leaves the office, don't think that your business won't be discussed or you not be made fun of. I knew more about people's lives than I'd like to admit. And it's really sad what's being said after you leave. To make fun of someone's looks or sad life story or personal struggle really made me hate to work there. Don't think that Bonnie is a safe person to talk to either because when you open up to her, we hear about it later. And you thought she was so nice, didn't you? People couldn't believe that these stories came from a ""professional"" dental office. They told me to get out of that discusting place.\r Also, when parents would bring their children in, Dr. Henline has no problem grabbing the child's face or forcing them to be a certain way for him in the chair when not behaving like an adult. Now, I don't have kids but I really felt bad deep down inside and knew that even as an adult I would never want to be handled that way. Henline would also tell the kids to ""shut up or we can do this all day"".\r Henline never had a problem talking about me to patients and putting me down in front of everyone in the office. People would tell me that he's an idiot and that he had major mental problems. They told me they weren't returning but not because of anyone in the office but him. When you talk to Dr. Henline about your tooth problem(s), when he's behind you, he rolls his eyes and goes in the other room while you're still talking and says, ""why don't they just quit talking already?"" That's because he knows what your problem is already but doesn't care about how you feel about it or what type of pain you're in. Remember, he has a God complex and really believes he's God to you and everyone else who doesn't have an education like him. We are all idiots...he's let me know how stupid all you patients really are...believe me! I'm just as stupid as all of you. I had to work with him everyday.\r Here's the bonus for all of you:\r The doctor and Bonnie decide who is paying for what, if at all paying. I could never keep track. If you're well liked, you don't pay as much or at all. If they don't really care for you because you complain or they don't really know you, guess what? That's right, you pay a different price or are charged differently than someone else that just got the same work done!\r Then if you want to work there, when you have concerns, the human resources department, Allison Mole, never returns your phone calls and no one addresses your concerns. So, you go to another employee who cares and you get fired for asking advice when that employee totally agreed with me. It was overheard by Bonnie and that's how I got caught. Oh, and Henline was afraid of me. Yeah, probably because when you do wrong you always have to look over your shoulder, huh?\r Since the company is overworked because of production goals, it is always too busy, lots of mistakes made because everyone is too stressed and tired, patients often return for fillings falling out (too many), but remember, it's your money that only matters-not you. You forget, how can they care about you when they can't even return an employees phone call about a serious concern about patient care? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong here. Keep your children AWAY from HUDEC DENTAL 7/2/2009

I just hung up the phone with Dr. Hudec. While his office manager was very understanding of a situation, Dr. Hudec is very defensive, set in his ways, and unwilling to budge on important customer issues. He conducted himself poorly in a phone conversation having to do with his staff's customer service. The issue: My six year old daughter received an amalgam filling while at the office. This was our first filling at Hudec Dental and I did not know that they only do Amalgam fillings on children unless otherwise asked. The choice is NOT given to parents. Had I realized this, I would have chosen a resin composite filling. Our previous dental office had a higher standard. I expected the same would be true for just about any dentist office these days. I was dumbfounded when I realized their ""standard"" is to use below standard materials. Dr. Hudec seems to take personal offense to the studies and recommendations of reputable institutions out there such as the FDA. FDA recommends that MERCURY amalgam fillings not be used on children. From the FDA website, ""Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses. When amalgam fillings are placed in teeth or removed from teeth, they release mercury vapor. Mercury vapor is also released during chewing."" With a health risk and having other options, why would any dental office opt to NOT give patients a choice? Dr. Hudec's answer is that Amalgam is absolutely safe and resented my implication that they are a substandard practice. He said it, not me! I sure do think they are a more than substandard practice, but it has everything to do with their methodology and treatment of patients/customers. I admit that amalgam is still widely used. However, my argument is that a treatment choice should be discussed with patients so that an informed decision can be made. Please DO NOT go to any of the Hudec Dental offices. You will be disappointed with long wait times (yes, I waited approximately 1.5 hrs before being seen and then turned away), substandard service, substandard offices, and substandard care as outlined by the owner of the practice himself. Dr. Hudec spoke with me for 15 mins and let me know the conversation had gone on long enough. Simply because I wanted my daughters filling replaced. Reasons not to go to Hudec Dental: 1. Offices are old and outdated 2. Long wait times 3. You'll be herded like sheep 4. Poor customer service standards 5. Poor patient care standards 6. I forgot an appointment and one of the hygentist called and left me a nasty message on my machine that was very unprofessional and mean. I called there and she was still nasty so i moved all my kids out of their office. Was the office on 124th st and lorain . Cons: horrible service more
