Hovanesian, Haroutun, Md - Specialty Eye Care Medical Ctr

To be honest, I was really skeptical when my doctor for almost 8 yrs told me that my insurance company was requiring that I switch to specialty eye care in glendale- a medical practice that I knew nothing about at the time. He told me to actively voice my disappointment with this switch by writing to the insurance company about my horrible experience there so I went in expecting to hate everything about it but to my surprise ended up actually loving the place! The doctors there were thorough, patient and really knowledgeable and the staff was really helpful. I am in a wheelchair and the staff there was really attentive to my needs and made sure I was comfortable. There was a little bit of wait but not that different from my old doctor. All in all, I would highly recommend this place. more

I woke up one morning with one of my eyes swollen and discharged. I started to panic, and realized that I have to get to ophthalmologist asap. Called this office and told them that i have an emergency. the front desk girl seem to be very friendly. She gave me an appointment right away. I got to the office and there were lot of people waiting in the waiting room. After 20 minutes the assistant called me in and opened a file for me. she seemed to be very friendly and explained to me the situation I was in. Then the the Dr. came in and checked my eyes. He also explained to me my situation in details on the eye chart which was hanging in one of the rooms. Dr. was very professional and knowledgeable. He told me that he needs to see me again in a week. The front desk girl gave me an appointment for next week and gave me some eye drops to use until next week. Overall my experience at this office was excellent. more

Hectic, disorganized, unfriendly office staff. Who took no interest in anyone at the front desk or waiting room. Very discouraging to hear other patients waiting with complaints about the doctor and staff.\r \r Dour, sour doctor who spent a total of 10 minutes with me only to be told to come back for more testing. Being at the mercy of the HMO system I did not have a choice. But if further treatment is required I will certainly contact my provider to share my experience with them to be referred to a different doctor. So if you are free to choose your own doctor please look elsewhere. more

very nice people, great doctor, great employees, everyone is nice and friendly, they know their job, I had a problem with the authorization, they helped me to solve the problem in a second....Great Place, Highly recommended!!! Pros: best in town more

Worst experience I have ever had when it comes to eye doctors. It was a complete rip off, pretty much took my money and ran. He didn't even spend at least 2 minutes with me. The whole time I was there the employees where talking about cake and about their patients right infront of me. Very rude, when it comes to the front desk girl. They also wanted to charge me for 1 box of contacts over a $100 and I had to et 8 box's. Complete rip off and a waste of your time. more
