Was very impressed with the speed with which my shoes were repaired (1 day) and with the helpfulness of the staff (Perci). Though I would not describe the prices there as cheap, I feel the quality of the repair is worth what they charge. more

The nice folks at this location are always friendly, accommodating, truly helpful and genuinely enthused about satisfying my picky needs. It's like working with a hometown cobbler who keeps up with the latest innovations in the biz. Recently brought in an expensive white leather handbag that had begun to fade yellowish, asking if they could return it to its original beauty. They under promised (it will look good, requires dye, may not be perfect) and over delivered (it's BETTER than the original ever looked, and yet oh-so-natural looking). Par for the course. Have been bringing 10-15 pairs of shoes and boots a year here for a decade - you couldn't get me to try someone else because they've never failed to be timely, honest and high quality. Recenly had my 12 year old Johnston Murphy 'Melton' dark brown dress shoes re-worked with new soles, heals and uppers conditioning. They look like new! Always get quality service from HSH. more

I agree with the last reviewer. Unless you don't mind having your shoes destroyed, avoid at all costs. These guys have been losing a lot of business lately and had to resort to flying their adds in a bid to get it back. Snotty manager who won't take responsibility for really bad work. Be warned. more

I took a pair of my AGL flats to the houston shoe hospital on Chimney Rock. The soles had worn down and I wanted them replaced. I got my shoes back a week later and the soft napa leather was shredded! The upper edges of the binding were eaten away, exposing the elastic and circular pieces of the inside leather were gone. They appeared to have been chewed away by mice or rats. I learned from the manager (who assumed no responsibility for the damages) that they actually send their shoes off to a warehouse somewhere to get the work done. I was extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in learning this fact. Unfortunately my husband had picked them up without looking them over carefully and had already paid. I brought them back promptly and told them and they offered to repair the upper part of the binding with calfskin but not the circles that had been eaten away on the inside and I did not receive a refund. I will never go back there and leave my beloved shoes in the negligent hands of such a poorly managed establishment. I'm just glad I didn't bring in my prized croc-skin boots, as I'm sure that would have ended in some sort of disaster. And I agree with one of the other reviewers: if these guys could be given a negative rating, I would put it as low as possible. If you love your shoes, don't take them here. more

I love love to go to the shoe hospital on kirby to get my very very expensive shoe collections serviced by jose he is very kind and knows exactly what he is doing.I was very skeptical going to a different location since i was used to go to the location on chimney rock where there was a young girl who always helped me and made me feel very comfortable by explaining everything that my shoes needed at a great price she no longer works there and that other guy there made me very uncomfortable by staring and trying to flirt with me everytime i went there so i stopped going untill i found jose on kirby ....thanks jose for your Great service you have provided! more

The Houston Shoe Hospital on Kirby knows how to repair shoes. Their shoe doctors will take shoes and return them to look like they are brand new. The formula of shoe polish that they use gives the shoes a shine that would make the Marine Corp proud. more

I love, love, LOVE the Houston Shoe Hospital!!! It is absolutely THE BEST place to go in Houston and beyond for expert shoe and boot service and repair. Shoe surgeons Jose and Jeremy are quick to diagnose what is ailing your fave footwear, and the post-op is always AMAZING!!! I have been a totally satisfied customer for more than 20 years! Recently I took my brand new Christian Louboutin's in for some sole grips. I hesitated to get them because I did not want my red bottoms a different color. When I returned to pickup my red bottoms, they had red sole grips which matched my Christian Louboutin's perferctly. This was a great surprize. The guys there are very nice and try their best to make you satisfied with your service. more

I took in nine pair of shoes and within 5 days they had repaired, heels, soles etc as needed to be as good a new. Staff is friendly. I will continue to have them polish and repair my shoes. As noted in my rating, hihgly suggest you give them a try!! more

The folks at Houston Shoe Hospital at Kirby and Bissonnet are the greatest, and the quality of their shoe repair is the best.The staff here are shoe smart, leather smart and courteous. They know how to keep my shoes performing and looking fabulous. When I buy shoes, particularly heels I now take them to HSH and they place protective soles and tips on them and they are good to go, providing a much longer life to the shoes. Walking on concrete, pavement etc can really beat up the soles of shoes. Keep in mind if your shoes or a strap on your briefcase needs a fix, these are the folks to do handle it. They are resourceful and know how to deal with high end and designer shoes. Thank you HSH for keeping my shoes looking polished and professional! 5 STARs more

I love this place! The staff is always courteous and professional, but Jason is the man! He is super knowledgeable about high end desgner shoes and makes great recommendations for extending the life of them. I'd bring him my Manolos anytime! more
