The apartments and homes owned by Lithonia Housing Authority are nothing to brag about. The residents are forced to live with bad electricity, rodents, roaches, huge spiders, no central heating or air, and on top of it bad neighbors! You can't watch tv and have the heater or ac on at the same time because you could shut out the electricity in the whole apartment. You have to worry about rodents and pest getting into your food and refrigerator. Just because you are on section 8 or housing choice does not mean you have to be subjected to such a low degree of living. I was so disgusted that I left and chose to pay full rent than to live like that. I may be struggling and little bit, but I have the peace of mind knowing I don't have to worry about being electricuted, a spider biting me or crawling in my kids' ears. Some of the apartments need to be torn down. It's sad. But it does force you to strive for better, I guess that's the point. Maybe.
Pros: Some of the workers in the office kind of care, maintenance works when they get ready
Cons: Just because they kind of care they won't change the conditions of living for the residents
