Maggie the owner is fantastic! I wanted a mermaid dress but fell in love with the top of an A line dress. She told me she could turn the A line dress into a mermaid dress. I was a little nervous not knowing if it would end up fitting the way I wanted, but Maggie made my dress perfect, exactly what I wanted. You would never guess my dress was an A line before. This place had the best prices out of all the dress shops I went to. It gets a little busy and you might have to wait a little to be helped in the store but the end results are amazing. more

House of Brides gives you great prices. I saw and found my wedding dress @ a different bridal shop and I called around to find the dress for a better price and Maggie gave me a real good deal. The owner is really honest about what looks good on you and will not lie about a dress to make a sale. The store does get pretty busy on Fridays and weekends, so you may have to wait a little bit, but she will definitely help you out. more

I had a really good experience here with Maggie. I found the dress that I wanted for my wedding elsewhere in Los Angeles, and was given price quotes that were out of my range. Maggie was able to lower the price of the dress so that I could afford it. I really appreciated the time she spent with me. From the beginning, I wanted to make an alteration to the top of the dress (there was a big bow that I wanted removed). Maggie was upfront with me that there would be an issue with covering the seam where the bow had been (something no other dress shop I spoke with mentioned). She is talented and creative and was able to whip up an amazing fix for the problem. My dress is beautiful. Maggie was also able to hem the bottom of the dress, which was a series of complicated petals. When she was finished, the dress looked better than the original layout. When I came into the store, I was nervous about purchasing the dress so far away from where I lived. However, I ran into a woman there who had bought her wedding dress from Maggie and was now bringing her friend in to do the same. That really re-assured me. My advice to any bride would be to get your initial quotes - from all of your wedding vendors - in writing. Wedding dresses generally take a long time to come in and you/the vendor won't remember what you agreed upon unless you get it in writing. If you do that here, you won't have any problems. Maggie is a talented seamstress and will take care of you. You will look beautiful on your wedding day! more

I ordered my Jasmine Couture gown from House of Brides. The price she gave me was fantastic - Like MsBella said - it was below all the online quotes I had received plus there was no S&H! I saved about 40% off the highest quote I had received in other shops. The dress came in a couple of weeks earlier than she told me it would and I had no problems picking it up. Yes, it was very busy but she got my gown for me and put me in a ""room"" to try it on. I am not having my alterations done through her so I'm not sure of the service in that regard. But if you are looking for a great price on a gown this is the place to go! more

I bought my wedding dress here. The dress was originally out of the budget, but I had shopped around at various shops and this store gave me the best deal. I'm glad I got my dress here because Maggie the owner takes good care of you and also provides alterations. She used to make custom dresses so her alteration skills are pretty good. She also provided free steaming/pressing of my wedding dress a few days before my wedding so it looked ready to wear. This is a smaller mom and pop shop and they aren't the most organized, but they do carry a great line of designer wedding dresses at better prices than you would probably find elsewhere. more

I found this shop while I was calling around for pricing on my bridesmaids' dresses. The owner Maggie was very helpful and gave me a great price. When I visited her store, I had a large group of about 10 people and they were so nice and accommodating even with our large crowd. I needed the dresses on short notice, and not only did Maggie promise me a due date before my wedding, the dresses even came earlier than expected! House of Brides and Tuxedo shop in Torrance has the most unique and elegant wedding dresses. Maggie (the owner) is very sweet, patient and very knowledgeable. She listens to your specific style need carefully and provides you with the dresses that best describes the style you are looking for. Even the it is a small family store she carries unique wedding gowns from a range of famous designers and her prices are very reasonable. I found the most beautiful and elegant dress. I saw it once and I had to buy it. I was getting compliments the whole day and still getting it from people who sees my wedding pictures. more

I went to a bridal salon and I found ""the one"". However, it was a more than I wanted to pay (on top of tax, rush shipping and alterations) so I decided to shop some more. I ended up calling around some salons that carried this designer and asked for a price quote. Maggie gave me the lowest quote for the exact same dress. I ended up buying my dress with rush shipping. (I told her I needed it earlier instead of giving her my actual wedding date). However, I made 2 follow-up calls to help ease my mind 1) to confirm the next day that she placed my order - which she did and 2) to call later about delivery status of my dress. I had called a few days before the delivery date and the dress had arrived early! more

Maggie was outstanding. my dress was a hit. my phone has been ringing none stop from everyone on facebook ramping and raving about how beautiful my dress was. i had no idea whether to go with bird cage or vail and maggie new exactley what the latest trends were. she was so helpful my mom is a burn victim and she's very self concious of her skin maggie had the perfect mother of the bride dress. my new step daughter was the flower girl she had the most beautiful dress that i had never seen before and it was our exact wedding colors. maggie and her team made sure my dress fit perfect i loss weight do to the wedding stress and alterations were no problem she's a fabulous seamstress. she knows her stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Maggie is a wonderful lady who helped me a lo! When I first started looking for wedding dresses in different places, I thought it was going to a dissaster because everything was way over priced and I couldnt find what i wanted. LUCKALY one day my sister (fatima) needed to pick up some flowers at conroy's which is by The House of Brides. I hadnt seen this place before, its a little hidden, and small, but it was a large selection. I decided to glace around and with in 5 minutes I found "" The Dress"". I didnt think about it twice and decided to order it. I thought i was ordering way ahead of time, but Maggie said the time was perfect for it to arrive on time. The quote for the dress was awsome! I also ordered my beautiful brides maides dresses from her. Everything came in on time. My wedding was April 10... and my dress was perfect! Maggie was a great help!
