pretty good 2/24/2009

househens is run by very nice girls. I have referred them to 10 people and every one felt thrilled with the quality of work, and the professional behavior of the owners. they are very nice people who try hard to contribute to their community. I am surprised by some of the feedback. - As for the Baz resale shop- it's an adorable store I hear- meant to help people find things they need at lower cost-it must be hard to keep track of other peoples things all the time- but it seems the store helps the community- I was talking with a woman who said they donated all these clothes to a foster child-I think thats great-I guess mostly unhappy people post messages. They say you can please most people most of the time, but not everyone all the time. I'll keep referring them because they do great work. Pros: friendly people more

Good at some stuff, not great at others. 2/19/2009

This was my first experience with a cleaning company, and I suppose this entire process is trial and error. I was under the impression a 'team' would come out- it was two people. We have four bedrooms, three full baths, and two half baths. Our entire first floor, and some of the 2nd floor is hardwood floors. I was clear with the woman on the phone that I really wanted the floors done. They quoted me between $90-115, then told me it would be $115 because it was once a month. Cost was not an issue, as long as they do a great job.\r \r Their strengths were organizing, vacuuming and our bathrooms look pretty good. They are not good at cleaning the floors. They cleaned around the rug until I asked her to clean underneath. This happened in several rooms, and they were cleaning around boxes and chairs instead of moving them. And nothing was heavy. After they left I noticed multiple scuffs on the floors and several spots that they didn't get- spots that would require getting down and spot cleaning. There was also quite a bit of dirt, so I ended up sweeping some spots again.\r \r I will probably not use them again. We really wanted a great job done on our floors and didn't get that, which was so disappointing. If you have mostly carpet and can micromanage them, then I would definitely go with them. I want to trust my cleaners to do a good job and I don't feel like I had that experience.\r \r The worst was how rushed they were. They got here a half hour early which was great, but then they were gone in under two hours and I know that to do a good job on our house would take atleast three hours and more care to detail. Pros: Good organizers, decent job on the bathrooms Cons: Seemed like they were rushing, not great on floors more

Not to be trusted 12/28/2008

House Hens owns another business called Baz Resale in which they sell woman and childrens clothes, toys etc., but they also have a photo album which if you ask for dishes or other household items, they will show you this photo album. They also advertise at the college asking for jewerly. They say the stuff is kept at their warehouse. I do not trust these people and would not let them in my home. For items on consignment, they will tell you that it didn't sell, however, its no longer there. You do not get paid unless they mark it sold even if it is missing. You will be told to come back another time. Which when you will come back, they will tell you its not Thurs. which is the only day that Mom comes in to pay people, so they won't even discuss your missing item. They make you feel like the bad guy for asking to get paid on you items. When your items are missing, they tell you they have another business they are trying to run and they have kids so some things fall through the cracks, can't you be understanding. They also tell you they are a struggling new business and you will have to wait to be paid or take a store credit. Another trick is even though it is marked in the books for one price, they will tell you a customer negotiated the price down and they just forgot to change it in the books. I know several people that have had similar problems. They even called the police on a customer when she kept showing up to get her stuff that they would not return to her. They couldn't find her stuff and were tired of hearing about it and wanted her to understand that it was lost and forget about it. They offered her a couple dollars for her stuff and when she refused there offer and wanted replacement value they called called the police. There was even a fight at there store. These are the same women that run this store as house hens. more

HOUSE HENS ASTON PA 10/3/2008

A neighbor recommended House Hens to me. I scheduled cleaning for every other week. House Hens said they would call to confirm their visit each week. They did not do that even one time. I waited for them to come on the first scheduled cleaning. When they didn't show, I called and they came to my house within an hour. I had to take extra vacation time from work. For the second scheduled visit, I called them the night before and they did show up that day. On the third visit - they never came at all. I went to work that day trusting that my house would be cleaned but it wasn't. To make matters worse, I had a house-sitter coming in two days. \r \r I have issues with their billing process and customer service. They have been totally rude to me. Unfortunately I gave them my credit card. They billed me twice for the first visit, but did give me a refund check. I paid for the second visit. I cancelled their service when they didn't show a third time and have since hired another company who actually calls me and comes when they say they will. \r \r Yesterday, 10/2, I was billed again. So - they cleaned my house twice and have billed my credit card four times. When I called them, I was very upset. Instead of telling me they would give me a refund, one of the owners questioned me as to whether I actually paid them in July. I know they will refund my money because I feel they are honest. On the other hand, they are totally incompetent and I would never recommend them to anyone.\r \r They asked me why I ""dislike"" them so much. I don't dislike them. I don't know them. I just don't want to be billed for a service I never received. Cons: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ADHERENCE TO SCHEDULE more

Fine Job! 10/18/2007

They showed up an hour and half late. I was not provided with the services which were in the package I purchased. I was told that the delux package I purchased would include cleaning the house from top to bottom and it is an all day cleaning. They were finished in two hours. I was told that I could inspect upon completion and if I was dissatisfied in certain areas, those area would be done over...instead, I received flack from the owner implying that it is expected to miss area with a first time cleaning and that it would be taken care of when they came back in two weeks for my general cleaning. I cleaned my home over myself and found that it was as if it had never been cleaned! Cons: late more
