While I don't think this is the worst spa in Dallas, it is far from good. Let me start off by saying this, my facial was great. The woman who did it (I forget her name) did a great job, did not talk the whole time or try to force products down my throat. I have no complaints about her, but instead with the spa itself.
Like many people on here I decided to try out ZaSpa during spa week. I get facials every 4-6 weeks at Bliss and occasionally get massages. I like to pamper myself and know a good experience. I am from NY and one of the spas we have there is incredible. The women's locker room is huge with a great steam room, showers that have eucalyptus that spray you, everything is spotless with women constantly cleaning up, and then there is a sitting room which could comfortably seat 15-20 women with a fire place...it's just amazing. When I am in NY I can get a facial and massage and literally spend the day there because it is a whole experience and day of relaxation.I sit, relax, steam, get my services, shower, nap, order some lunch, etc. It is a whole day. My facials and massage there are also half the price of ZaSpa. The massage costs $95 and facial is $105 which is very affordable for NY, especially when it includes such an incredible experience.
I expected that from ZaSpa, but not so. I arrived 15 minutes early and went into a locker room that serves as a sauna, bathroom, locker storage and shower. The entire locker room was literally the size of the locker storage area at my place in NY and at Bliss. ZaSpa had 1 shower and 1 toilet area and no where to change. I had to go into the toilet area and change which is gross because the last thing I want is my feet or clothes near a toilet or on dirty floors (which they were).
I then went out and sat in their relaxation room which is ridiculous. It has an ugly, black, laminate table with 4 chairs, 2 chaise's and some sharper image massage chair. Hello tacky? There is not even a curtain to block it off so the entire time you see out into the reception. There are only 4-6 massage/facial rooms and it is the oddest set up ever. To make matters worse, the spa has done nothing to block the light coming into the facial and massage rooms so literally the sunlight was shining through the curtains into my eyes the entire time. Additionally, because the spa is situated on the path to love field it sounded like jets were going to fly into the room.
At Bliss I go an hour or two early and relax in the showers which are amazing, sit by the pool, etc., but here I was bored and annoyed in the relaxation room after 10 minutes. It really was awful!
The worst part came when it was time to check out. For Spa week all services are $50. When I booked my appointment they said there was a $15 service charge included. I automatically assumed that was gratuity because people probably stiff the employees during spa week. Well when I checked out I asked about the $15 service charge and the receptionist told me that the girl who did my facial only gets 16% of that, which is $3. The rest goes to the Spa. UM WHAT????? How ridiculous. If I hadn't asked, which I'm sure people don't, my girl would have gotten a $3 tip for a service that is normally $160, and was the only good part of the entire experience. As a result I left the girl another $25. Additionally, why is the spa adding $15 for themselves? At the end of the day I left and spent $100, on something which was supposed to be $50. I felt $100 was too much for the bad experience, let alone the original price of $160. Don't go here period. It was just bad!
