Fishing hole and more! 1/8/2006

Horning’s is truly a hideout, as few Portlanders have ever heard of it. Located a short distance from the city area, it offers camping, hiking and fishing adventures. An amazing place to hold an event or attend one, the setting is tranquil. Except of course for the peacocks! Their loud calls sound spooky at night, but they are beautiful to watch in the daylight. Be wary of the bathrooms and playgrounds, both are in some state of decay and I would only use with caution! more

A great place to spend the day 8/21/2005

Hornings Hideout has become a big hit with our family. Every year my family comes up for a family type reunion and we all go camping. At least one day we head out to Hornings to go fishing. It is a great deal because since my family is all out of state they would each have to pay $35 for a one day fishing license ( local residents only have to pay $20 a year) so thats pretty high. Hornings you do not need a license. You fish and pay by the pound what you catch. It is lots of fun. They have playgrounds for the kids and there are beautiful tame peacockd that wonder around and are so pretty. more
