My Favorite Place In The World 2/6/2012

A bottle of wine, a bucket of mussles and a loaf of sourdough bread is what you need to enjoy the spectacular views. To the left: Marin County, straight ahead: the Bay Bridge and to your right you can see the bright pinks and reds of the sunset on the City of San Francisco. On a clear sunny day, the experience in Horoizons can't be beat. I run here to get away from it all. more

Best view of the city! 4/22/2010

After a short ferry ride, to enter this restaurant is like you never got off the boat. Being right on the water in Sausalito with the most spectacular view of the city can't be beat. Not to mention the food is wonderful with huge portions and very generous pours on their cocktails. Pros: great drinks, food and service more

Relaxing setting with amazing views! 4/6/2009

We came over here from San Francisco last Saturday and enjoyed an amazing dinner. It happened to be a great evening, but I think no matter how the weather is you can't go wrong here. I had one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and everyone else loved their meals too. And they obviously had a bartender who knew what he was doing because our cocktails were made perfectly. We felt like we were far away on vacation. We'll be back for another mini vacation soon! Pros: Everything! more

Unbelievable Setting 4/5/2009

What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon! The weather was amazing so it made our entire experience that much more enjoyable but you cannot beat the setting no matter what the weather is. My girlfriend and I sat outside, had a light lunch and a glass of wine and it was deeevine! We could have spent the entire day there. She had a tasty salad and I had the clam chowder-both were very good. It's a very freindly crowd and the staff are very attentive and fun. I will definitely go again. Six of us sat on the deck for Sunday brunch; great weather, views and really good food. Five of six of us enjoyed the Eggs Chesapeake. The service was good, too. The coffee could have been stronger. Will be back again soon! PS I remember when Horizon's was the Trident. The place still looks good today! more

Breathtaking view of San Francisco and absolutely delectable food! 5/24/2007

I really enjoyed eating dinner here as my friend and I sat in the far right corner of the restaurant overlooking the waters and gratifying views and lights of San Francisco. It was just absolutely beautiful and enjoyable while the food was very tasty and service was great! We were given enough privacy, yet, the waiter was very attentive and was ""on top of it"". The food - appetizer, various seafood platter - was delicious and the main course was delicious! Definitely a romantic place for dates and ambiance was perfect enough (not noisy) to have an intimate conversation. I love this place and will definitely be going again! more

A Must place to eat in Sausalito!! 9/3/2006

This was the highlight of our trip to the Bay Area. The view is exceptional. Being tourists, the staff there made us feel so welcome the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious. It was the best meal we had on our trip. The atmosphere is great even if you have kids. My 3 year old daughter enjoyed the food. We recommended they have macaroni and cheese on their kids menu. Since our visit they have added macaroni and cheese (gourmet) to the kids menu. I am so happy they took our recommendation. We will be back on future trips to the Bay Area. Pros: Great Service, Great ambience, Great Food. Cons: N/A more

Best Food in Sausalito 7/25/2006

The chef always has wonderful creations. They have a delightful special each and every day. The seafood is the best! The lobster is succulent. Don't forget to have clam chowder. The million dollar view is amazing. The best view in the city while you dine on their lovely patio. The building is very unique and interesting. I love the ambiance and the service is always exceptional. Pros: Great service, awesome view, delicious food and drinks more

Best seafood and clam chowder in town with fabulous waterfront view 7/7/2006

I entered this restaurant and was in awe by the ambiance. million dollar view. We were graceausly taken to our seat and greeted by a freindly server. All our needs were satisfied. I ordered the lobster ravioli and my boyfriend ordered the new york steak fromage. Everything was fresh and presented beautifully. Pros: food, service, view more

Great view and food. 5/30/2006

Our family got great service here on Memorial Day, even though the restaurant was extremely busy and the staff were overworked. The food was overpriced ($9 for an extremely basic Caesar salad?), but nevertheless it was all prepared excellently. In fact, this is the first place where I had mussels steamed in white wine where the mussels were NOT overcooked/rubbery. Ultimately though what you're paying for in the food is the fantastic view, so make sure to get a seat outside. Pros: view, seafood, cooking technique Cons: price, wobbly tables/chairs more

Dissapointing 5/26/2006

We sat in a wobbly table where everyone bumped into my chair. Bar drinks took 20 min. warm martinis conf. the server was a slowsky. Soup & Salad were never served. We were not offered a 2nd round of bar drinks. The mngr noticing us looking around an hour after our food was served stopped by. We asked for the check he stated that he'd bring it back himself then had the waitress bring it back, she chatted about herself for 10 min. The topper was 2 go back 2 our car parked in valet & having a fee for being ""too long"" for just lunch. The valet attndnt was the only person @ this est. w/ any sense of reality. 2 1/2 hours for lunch IS too long for a group of 5. The food was only mediocre. A member of our party didnt even eat her lunch. Pros: S.F. Bay Cons: Service, Food, Parking more

Beautiful view, unpretentious service 8/23/2003

The view is gorgeous, the food is not bad... A typical seafood dinner entree is around $20. There is an outside deck with amazing views... The interior design is kind of old.. If the owners spent some money renovating the interior, this place could definitely be converted to a fine dining restaurant. But one thing I like about this place is that it is gorgeous, and I don't have to dish out beaucoup bucks. My financee and I had dinner there; 1 apetitzer, 2 seafood entrees, 1 cocktail and the bill came out to be $70 with tip. Memorable 7/24/2003

We had the pleasure of relaxing on the outside patio on a warm sunny day 4/7/03 with a spectactular view of San Francisco. The food and drink was wonderful. We were so relaxed it prompted us to walk from Horizons, across the Golden Gate Bridge to Presido Beach ... Unexpected and memorable it was ;) more
