The only thing Devon Anderson has going for her is the fact that she's a Texan, and White! How in the hell can you honestly convict someone with absolutely NO EVIDENCE? And sentence them to prison on mere hearsay? This people, is justice? It's the very thing that's giving Houston, and Texas as a whole a bad name. All I can say Is ""Good riddance to bad rubbish"". Let's look at Judge Anderson. Since Judge Devon Anderson was elected by us to the bench in 2005, she has maintained a well-run, efficient and professional court. Judge Anderson has proven in just 4 years that she is fair and consistent. Judges are faced with tremendous pressure to make many decisions, and Judge Anderson proves that she makes fair, lawful rulings. Those of us in Harris County can be confident that when we re-elect Judge Anderson, she will contuine to serve as one of the most excellent judges in our great county. Outstanding Judge 7/9/2008

I have seen Judge Anderson on several occasions and can say she is consistent with her sentencing regardless of race. Bottom line, if a person breaks the law there are penalties to pay. Judge Anderson is fair in issuing those penalties. Pros: consistent and fair more

Superb Judge 7/7/2008

Come on. Any respsonsible, intelligent, ""thinking"" citizen of Harris County can easily deduct after reading these intentionaly negative shots against one of the hardest working public servants in Harris County, that they are just that, attempts. Judge Anderson is no other than upstanding, caring and FAIR. Of course in CRIMINAL court, some might feel that they got wronged, but the law and their acts to break it did it to them, not the judge. If you visit Judge Anderson's court, which I have on numerous occasions, I see order, decorum, respect for all people of all races. People in Judge Andersons' court are treated with dignity. Those who honestly know Judge Anderson and see the wonderful impact she has made on the bench would change their words in a minute. Thanks, Judge Anderson ! You're doing a GREAT job! UNFAIR 7/3/2008

My father was a politician in California and because of this I knew personally many judges. Judge Anderson is a disgrace to the profession we hold dear and usually respect . You judge by facts not by feelings. And everyone can see what her feelings are towards the black race. She truly needs to resign. Cons: too many to list here more

This lady is the real deal. She treats victims, defendants and lawyers with respect and she manages to respect the law at the same time. Be warned. A lot of the negative reviews on this site are coming from people who went into a courtroom with their own definition of justice. See, they define justice as what happens when they get their way and people suffer. That's not justice. Devon Anderson knows what real justice is. Pros: FAIR. TOUGH. COMPASSIONATE. more

When you talk about Devon Anderson, 177th Criminal District Court Judge, you're talking about a jurist with class. She's one of the top-rated judges in Harris County. You're talking about someone with a rock solid legal mind and a good heart. I've seen the way she handles herself in court, as opposed to others who have posted here. She treats both sides with respect and manages to get justice done. She represents the people of Harris County better than anyone else. Probably one of the best things you can say is that she's fair. She's experienced and tough too. So, wen you vote in November, get all the facts. Don't listen to a bunch of whiners who didn't win every fight in her court. Anderson Needs to learn how to be a judge 2/17/2008

Judge Devon Anderson doesn't know how to be fair. She definately uses her personal feelings instead of a sound mind. I sat through a preceeding where she let the Assistant District Attorney get away with whatever he wanted, while she shut down the Defense Lawyer at every possible turn. There was one point where the defense lawyer presented paperwork to her and she actually threw (as hard as she could) the papers at him and nailed him in the face with the papers instead of handing him back the papers. Is that how we expect our judges to act in the courtroom. She is lucky that I was only a spectator and not a juror becuase there is no way I would have convicted the man on trial at the time. Even based on the evidence I would not have convicted, but her attitude would have made it a done deal for me not to convict. Pros: None that I have seen Cons: Uses her feelings not her brain more

I have followed Judge Devon Anderson's career for quite a while. She has handled many high profile cases in Houston. I find her to be realistic, firm, authoritative, and non-biased. It would be easy to get upset with a Judge that ruled against you or someone you knew, but there is always a just cause for the ruling! Judge who knows no JUSTICE 9/29/2007

But wait a minute, did she not say? ""I think we need to be tough on crime, but we need to get substance addicts out of jails so we have room for people who need to be locked up, especially violent offenders,"" said state District Judge Devon Anderson. What violent crime did Reggie commit? Substance addicts need our help, but innocent professional black men should be punished for what she ""feels"". How is it possible that this lady is a judge of anything? She's is not fit for the job in which she has been appointed. Gimme a break. Judge Devon Anderson is not fair. Some of her sentencing practices have made it all the way up here to Canada and well, they are appalling and an embarrassment to your U.S ""justice"" system. I have been watching her for some time and I have seen heavy-handed and inappropriate application of the law toward African Americans on more than one occasion - and I will note that I make this observation as a Caucasian person. I cannot believe that she has not been investigated further on this and has not been impeached already. Pros: none. Cons: Everything. more

This Judge IS NOT fair. She has no clue what fair means. Her sentencings are based on ""feelings"" whenever a camera is not in her face. She has been afforded a position to judge according to the law but has taken her position for granted and used for personal demeanor. Cons: completely unfair more
