This building has had its days of neglect and mismanagement. The new manager has walked into the depth of problems brought on by others failing to do their job. The elevators are 26 years old and are long over due for modernization. There are House Rules written as they may be, are House Rules. Community Association Laws call for their enforcement on an equal and non bias basis. As for the Manager he has for the first time decorated the lobby in a nice way for Christmas and to almost everyones enjoyment and was met with alot of praise. During the Blackout he was busy getting the generator and automatic transfer switch operational so we would have power to run the water, trying to coordinate with the elevator mechanics to get here and get an elevator running, if the elevator mechanics could get an elevator running. He cannot fix the elevators he is not trained to repair these, the Board hires the contractor to repairs the elevators, and we are all at the mercy of the contractors getting the parts to repair our elevators which are 26 years old and those parts are obsolete. Past mismangement should not be blamed on new magement. The unit are spacious and layed out to avoid most 90 degree angles, adding to the flow of the walls. There are 1, 2, and 3, Bdrm units with great views. Aloha Tower provides great entertainment of fireworks on New Years and the Fourth of July. The grounds provide a lot of greenery and shaded areas with the Monkeypods trees and in the front of the buiiding there is a nice fountain ehanced with grennery around it making it look like a fountaining volcano. Really this is a majestic building and with uniformity returning to the Associations members and owners it can again shine like Capital Place, Hokua, Koolani, Moana Pacific, 909 Kapiolani, and other newer Associations. It just takes cooperation from both the Board and Owners who will direct the management correctly and dillgently on what they want achieved.
Pros: convenient location to everything
Cons: Some owners and tenants think their special and the rules do not apply to them.
