Great Place for Natural Foods 12/6/2009

Honest Weight is the best place to shop in the capital region if you want local or specialty foods. They have a fantastic vegetarian deli and hot breakfast/lunch bar, a wonderful bakery that sells vegetarian and vegan baked goods, and a huge bulk department. Bring your own clean containers and have them weighed at the service desk to avoid being charged for bags/containers. You don't have to be a member to shop there, but you do get a discount if you are. Pros: Great selection, friendly staff, local foods Cons: Parking can be a challenge more

Focus is on Local Foods 8/17/2009

Honest Weight Food Co-op (HWFC), open to the public, is a terrific place to shop. It now offers a wide selection local poultry and meats. Incredible selection of unusual products, including wheat-free and gluten-free products. Planning is underway for a brand new, larger store with more convenient parking. Many of the products available in other states at Trader Joe's, for example, are available at HWFC. Try it. Save gas. You'll like it. Pros: Local Products, Cheese, Bulk Foods, Cons: Only one location more
