Brace Yourself 4/17/2010

Even after you get through the sketchy parking lot, with its drifters and vagrants, you need to brace yourself for this Home Depot experience. Other reviewers have deplored the fact that non-Spanish speakers may not be treated well - that has not been my experience, though. I just think nobody is treated well. And I also think the employees speak better English here than at a lot of other places in Miami, and one must take into consideration that this is on Calle Ocho. (For the record, I don't speak Spanish). I believe the store is poorly run, inadequately staffed, and as a result you are left to wander the aisles aimlessly looking for whatever wingnut you need, with very little guidance. I've also found that if you ask two employees the same question, you are likly to get two very different answers. On the plus side, they are fairly liberal in their return policy, though you have to wait a long time in their return dept. Pros: The store has everything you need Cons: But nobody will help you find it more

You will be discriminated against and not treated right if you don't speak Spanish 8/4/2008

Expect to be treated rudely and unfairly if you are not Hispanic. The cashiers and their supervisors let their friends get ahead of other customers in the checkout lines. If you complain the Spanish speaking customer and the employees stick together against you and rudely tell you to get back to your place in the line. When your turn comes to pay, you will be further punished by being made to wait as the cashier won't be able to read the code on one of your items. While you are waiting the cashier and her supervisor (Amelia and Arleny, in my case) will be speaking Spanish among themselves and laughing at you. No manager will be available to help you out. Be prepared for a totally incredibly ugly shopping experience that you won't find anywhere else. Pros: the same goods as you would find in other Home Depot stores Cons: discrimination against non-spanish speaking customers more

Dante would have created another circle of hell if he would have ever experianced the Home Depot on Calle Ocho. Here is an excersize in futility: try and call this god forsaken operation and attempt to get some one who even remotely has any experiance with hardware or building materials. The current rating for this operation is a 9.8 reflects either a payoff to some one who operates city search or some one from home depot corparate has influanced the rating on line. Cons: incomptence, filthy, long lines more
