Hollywood Dog Training Sch

Luna, our 3 yo catahoula leopard mix rescued from a DTLA shelter, just graduated basic training! It was honestly the best money we've spent in a long time! She had several bad habits including excessive 'mouthing', jumping, wall chewing, severe dog aggression, Houdini-esk collar escaping, and pulling on the leash like a champ on a sled team! \r \r I'm glad to say that after five weeks away from home, very hard on 'dad', she is still our lovable Luna who just wants to cuddle. BUT! Now we can take her out for a walk in our neighborhood, lots of dogs around, and keep HER from dragging US around. We are no longer afraid that she will escape when we open the door. Does she still think bad thoughts? Yes, she's still Luna, but now she knows there are rules, and she is happy to follow them to make us happy. \r \r HDTS worked with the whole family to make sure we all understood how keep Luna safe, happy, and healthy. We plan on taking advantage of the free refresher lessons, and hopefully when 'dad' can stand to give her up for a few more weeks she will do the advanced training. Everyone at HDTS was very nice, and it is clear that they want the very best for all of the dogs they care for.\r \r Not only do we plan on going back for more training, we also plan on exclusively using their grooming, and boarding services for Luna. I know she will be excited to go back, and see her new best friend Diana who took such amazing care of her, and taught her to be the very best dog she could be. more

Being new to Los Angeles with a 7 month old German Shepard, we knew she was needing some training, but, had a dilemma on who?..I researched several different trainers in the area, and after a year of research and continued struggles of dealing with my precious Shepard, I decided on Hollywood Dog Training School. My husband and I had a weekend where Maggie spent a weekend with us out of town as she had many weekends, however this particular weekend we had left her crate behind, and when we left her in the hotel room, she commenced to tear up 2 bed pillows and a remote control (picture attached) more

I rescued my Irish setter from a shelter a few years and he was never trained. It was getting to the point where I had to do something with Shamus!!! Ever since I took him to Hollywood Dog Training School, he is now a properly behaved animal. :) I don't even have to lock him up anymore when I have guests come over! more

I have been going here for years now. My dog loves the atmosphere and always comes home in a good mood. Where other dog walkers/groomers treat their "clients" just as a meal ticket, Johnny and Ty truly take an interest in knowing and caring for the the dogs in their care. I recommend them to everyone who cares about their pet. You really get your money more

Just recently got a bluenose pitbull and had to take it in immediately for her shots. My first visit there was incredible bc the staff helped me immediately. I would definately recomment theis facility to others and did i mention the staff was great. more

My lab terrier mix was suspended from doggie daycare because he was aggressive with the other dogs and would not respond appropriately to staff commands. It was highly suggested that we seek training for him. My husband had heard about Hollywood Dog Training School through a friend and had heard stories that sounded similar to the diffiiculties we had with Roscoe. Although I was highly against sending him away to be trained, once I made a visit there I knew this was the place for him. We brought him back the next day and he remained there for six weeks. We visited him several times and while he was happy to see us and as loving as ever he seemed very happy with his buddies at HDTS. The staff is so caring and understand each dog individually. Our trainer, Diana commanded Roscoe"s respect and ours as well. She was so patient with me, each time I came for my obedience training, as I felt I was not 'the quickest to get it trainee' they ever had. Now whenever I am walking him I am so proud that I am also a graduate of HDTS and that he responds so naturally to my commands. When I took him back to daycare they said they could see 100 percent change in his behavior. more

My dog Riley just graduated from Hollywood Dog Training and now one week later I am writing this review with gratitude and the highest praise for HDT. Riley, while being a wonderful dog at home had developed a bad (and scary) habit of running away from me on our daily hikes out in the Tujunga Wash. I had the choice to walk him on leash, while he pulled and cried out to play with the other dogs or let him off the leash and risk him disappearing for hours. I was referred to HDT by a former client who came across me while I was frantically searching for Riley one morning. A friend recommended Rick at Hollywood Dog Training, she had great results with three dogs. I went with my year and a half old jindo rescue to check it out. the kennels were clean, the staff happy and helpful. I signed up and 4 weeks later i had a happy and well trained dog. our walks are a pleasure. I found Rick and his staff very caring and real animal lovers. more

I used these guys about 2 years ago. So why am I taking the time to write a review now? Because I miss them sooooo much! I'm no longer living in CA and I've had to board my cats twice at the only place I knew of around where I live now. I just dropped my cats off today and I am absolutely traumatized, so I finally searched for some other places because I am NEVER going back to Rob Cary Pet Resort. more

I left my very happy and healthy 7 year old small dog just for the weekend and he died within a few days. They pretended like they had no idea what happened to him, which is scary to think that your pet would be under such little, if any, supervision. Please be careful, I don't want this to happen to anyone else. They showed no remorse regarding the situation. Cons: Unsafe environment for your beloved pets more

If my dogs could write this review they would give four paws up! I have two Yorkies, both have been trained at HDTS -- best investment ever, I feel so comfortable boarding my babies with their second family. We have also been able to take advantage of the new doggy daycare, where we are regulars. Do not hesitate to bring your babies too, the only better place for them to be is with you; and everyone at HDTS will answer your crazy doggy parent questions without passing judgement. I adopted an abandoned year old lab. She had been dumped on the road and had little manners. I had so much difficulty in handling her I thought I might have to find her a new home. Then I was referred to Rick at Hollywood Dog Training, within 6 weeks the staff had taught her manners and obedience. A wonderful dog emerged, she is now an angel. The staff is wonderful and caring. They listen to you and are always there for you. Maggie goes to their Doggie Day Care and has a blast. It gives her a chance to run, play and socialize under excellent supervision. I can't recommend them enough, they are lifesavers. When my daughter went into hospital on an emergency and someone needed to take care of Maggie they went to the house and collected her for me. We've been taking our cat for 2-week boardings each year for the past 5 to 6 years. The Kitty City is a well designed, beautiful facility, clean, airconditioned, sound proofed (so you don't hear dogs barking outside), very homey place. Their cat cubicles are very cozy and clean. Of course our cat can't tell us if he had a bad time, but he always comes home clean and healthy! Pros: great facility Cons: no pickup/drop off on Sundays more

The staff is exceptional, the training is awesome. Completely satified with all services. My two dogs spent 30 days of in-kennel training and I needed a few extra days of training for myself and they worked with me until they felt I was ready to bring them home. All at no extra charge. All retraining free for both dogs and myself. I was very impressed with everyone from office staff to kennel staff. Dogs are waiting for me to go out-of-town so they can go visit again. more

I brought by 2 dogs in for boarding, and i'm one of those paranoid parents. and after seeing the place and talking with the helpful staff, i was totally down for leaving them there. great place, i wouldnt want to go anywhere else!!!! more
