A huge center, that touches on every craft and hobby out there. 8/7/2006

I really like hobby lobby. If you want to start out a certain craft, they are sure to have all the basics. Of course there comes a time when you outgrow them for supplies (say, when you want to knit with cashmere or alpaca, or get a special tip for cake decorating) but it is always fun to wander through the whole place. It is really big, and has a great home decor section too. Their weekly sales are pretty good most of the time, but they are closed on Sundays! It loses a star for that! more

Hobby Lobby 4/16/2006

I love many different types of crafts, and enjoy this store in that I can wander around and everything I might need for future projects can be bought all in one place. I have used the picture framing department three times in a years' time, and with much satisfaction. I look for Hobby Lobby's sale ad in the local paper, and near weekly - something I can use is usually 1/3 to 1/2 off at this location! more

Big store with lots of selection 3/30/2006

Hobby Lobby has always been a great place to go for craft supplies, cake decorating supplies, silk flowers, framing needs, and a whole ton of other stuff. It is a big store, so you need to take your time when you go here as you might not find what you are looking for right away. Staff is helpful so ask them if you need something. Parking is not a problem here either as it is located in a shopping center. Prices are comparable and they offer sales and coupons quite often. A great resource if you do not like Michaels' or Walmart. more

This place is gigantic. 3/19/2006

The first thing I noticed about Hobby Lobby is it just stretches on and on. It's really just a huge store. This means that there is just a ton of stuff that they carry. It kind of seems like Michaels melded to Pier One with some JoAnne Fabrics thrown in. They have a ton of scrapbooking supplies and pretty much everything else you can think of. However, they aren't open Sunday. I always forget this and end up heading to Michaels after I find out they're closed. more

Good general craft store 3/17/2006

Hobby Lobby has a good general selection of craft supplies, as they carry items for most major and some minor hobbies like plastic models or tatting, or 100% wool yarn for felting. They do not have specialized art materials like Dick Blick, but their weekly sales and internet coupon at www.hobbylobby.com are usually very good. Their only downside is their hours; they are closed on Sundays and close at 8pm on weekdays. more
