My son has only played baseball for 2 seasons, and travel baseball for 1. He is 9 years old but plays on a 10U team. He came to see Jasha with a batting average of .179, however after ONE session with Jasha, not only did he hit his first homerun of the season, his batting average increased to .325! After hearing ""hips first"" for months and not seeing improvement in batting during his 9U season, my son started training with Jasha. After just a few lessons, he came out driving the ball like never before, consistently hitting singles and doubles. ""His bat is On Fire!"" was the comment from one of his coaches. \r \r Jasha was able to get rid of the bad habits he had been taught while he was still young and adjust him with the proper mechanics. He made it simple. My son finished out his season a strong batter and continued with power through the fall. \r \r For Spring 10U he played on a team that had group training at another training facility. Unfortunately we learned the hard way that all training isn't the same. He came to the group training a strong batter and came out the other end hitting a .174 his first tournament. Not the results we would expect. We immediately came back to Jasha and by the next tournament, he came out batting a .700 average. Quite a difference. No one compares to Jasha! My son has been a full-time competitive baseball player in Gwinnett County since Tee-Ball. Throughout our travels, we have encountered a variety of coaches and hitting instructors. Although he was always been one of the better hitters on his team, we wanted to take his game to another level. That is when we found Jasha Balcom. Jasha has helped my son become a well disciplined hitter! His travel team batting average went from less than .200 early in the season, to hitting over .500 at the end of his 11U season. Last year, as he played 12U, Jasha succeeded in fully breaking down his old habits and reset proper hitting techniques that allowed him to swing with power, discipline and through the zone. In the last 11 games of Fall 2009 season, he hit 7 HR's with an average of .700+. At the end of Spring 2010, my son broke his right toe. Jasha worked on changing his stance and follow-through so he can hit solidly without putting too much pressure on his back foot and toe. At Cooperstown, June 2010, his lessons and adjustments came through, where he hit 8-11 and got on base 11-13 times.
