Terrible Customer Service 4/10/2008

I chose this hotel initially because I thought that the Director of Catering would be reliable and available on the day of my wedding. I found out the day before the wedding that she was on vacation. She promised to assist us that day. The Manager who took over did not have any clue so we had to tell her everything again. There was no proper turn over. On the day of the wedding, there was no available Banquet Manager nor Catering Manager to talk to and take my favors and menus to be set up on the table. My parents had to do this stuff and rushed to the church for the wedding. Another thing was eventhough we paid $10,000+ on the Banquet for the reception and for 3 additional rooms booked, we did not get any points on our Hilton Honors. We asked the Catering Manager, Director of Catering and the Front Desk to make sure that we get credit for Hilton Honors for the $$$ we paid, but it didn't happen. My maid of honor who had a reservation for 2 nights was asked to leave after one night. According to the Front Desk, the room was only available for one night. Lastly, our contract says that our Wedding Reception ends at 12 midnight, but at 11pm, the Banquet Manager asked our DJ to stop the music and he turned on the lights eventhough my guests were still dancing on the dance floor. Terrible Customer Service. I would never recommend this hotel especially for a Wedding Reception. more

The Executive Lounge on the 8th floor has all the beer and wine you need to wind down your day and the snacks aren't too bad either. Everything at the hotel seems to be in good shape, the service is very good, and its in a great location. My last stay about 30 days ago was at the Fiarmont in downtown San Jose and if you're on the move, don't want to deal with downtown traffic, this is the place for you. No parking charges, quickly in and out of the hotel, this Hilton is a good choice. Also, I think the service is the same for the two hotels, and I think the rooms are slightly better at the Hilton. They've finally upgraded their beds to something similar to the Westin's, and I can't ask for more. Pros: Nice Plush Beds, Well Maintained, Good Location Cons: Ok Food more

La Fontana (in SC Hilton) 8/30/2005

Ive been to La Fontana twice, enjoying both visits. For lunch, I had the grilled Ahi tuna sandwich. Cooked rare and with a nice remuolade (horseradish sauce) was a really big portion and one of the best sandwiches I've had in this year or maybe even ever. Fries were cooked just right (w/skin) with seasoned salt/pepper mixture. For dinner, I had the seafood chowder and my wife had the pork loin chop. The huge chop was cooked perfectly for our taste and the accompanying pan sauce complimented the chop w/o overpowering. The seafood chowder was surprisingly not a soup, but a tasty cream/tomato/herb based stew that was closer in quantity to gravy vs. a soup. There was a good amount of seafood and a crab cake on the side to top it off. Service was good and attentive (we had our 6 year old with us which hurried dinner along quicker than we liked). We will go back to this restaurant again. more
