My dentist assured me that the guy I was going to see would do a great job and would make sure I was comfortable. I have been with my dentist for quite a few years so I trusted her judgement. BIG MISTAKE...\r
Upon arriving at Metropolitan Endodontics, I was very impressed. Janine at the desk was sweet and knowledgeable. She reassured me and said I would make it through. \r
The assistant-I think her name was Jen-was also very sweet. She explained what the procedure was going to be like. She even offered me headphones after I explained my fear of ""the drill."" After she got my information and took a couple xrays, she informed me that she would go let Dr. Kaufmann know I was ready. \r
He introduced himself and asked me what was going on that day. I explained my symptoms to him-after he interrupted me about a million times. His tests seemed to point to one specific tooth so I agreed to the root canal. \r
#1. I requested the laughing gas to help me through the shots. He said yes but he didnt even wait for it to take effect. \r
#2. He was not gentle at all with the shots. Jammed the needle in and went to town.\r
#3. He said that he was a Navy dentist for years. Not a good thing to tell your patient.\r
The assistant was wonderful. She asked me continuously if I was ok-I could tell she cared. I just lied and said yes. (She called the next day to check on me too! I didnt tell her how bad the appointment was for me.)\r
After I left the office, I burst into tears. I called my dentist and she assured me that she has never had a bad report from that particular office. She promised me that she would never send me back to Dr Kaufmann.\r
I have spoken with a couple of friends and coworkers that have actually been to Metropolitan Endontics before. One of them saw Dr Andrew Doroshack and the other saw Dr Scott Doyle. They both gave great reports.\r
If you need a root canal, by all means go to Metropolitan Endontics but do NOT see Dr Kaufmann.
Pros: friendly receptionist and assistant
Cons: the doctor is rough and militant
