I am not one to write reviews! my wife takes care of that! but after last night I had to write this one., The service was awesome and the food spectacular. I want to personally thank Cindy she is a great manager and I would recommend this place to all my freinds in Miami and the ones that fly in! more

When I wanted to go out to eat for my bday, this is the place I chose. It doesn't matter it if is lunch or dinner, it is always very busy, and very very good! I always order to Hawaiian steak, and it is always cooked perfectly as ordered. Their shoestring fries are addicting; have one and you won't stop until they're all gone. The drinks are good as well. I tried the sushi finally and I can honestly say it was some of the best sushi I've had in Miami. Never disappointed.\r Even better than the food? The service. The men and women that work here are incredibly professional and polite. As busy as the place get once your order is in you will get your food quickly. Plus they will come to see how things are going but not come by constantly and interrupt your meal/conversation. I just love this place all around for the great food and amazing service! more

Great restaurant for people that enjoy waiting for a table and enjoy mediocre food. Hillstone, formerly Houston's, is just high-end diner food, their menu lacks creativity and selection. They make you wait for a table, even when there are tables available. In Coral Gables there are many dining options, do yourself a favor and choose a different restaurant. more

Hillstone, formally Houston's\r 201 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL\r Service by: Ruth 169, 5/5 "Great"\r \r Wait time: 25 minutes\r Note: As we proceeded to Houston's, we jammed on our brakes when we saw the name change. I promptly called inside and I was informed by the staff that this restaurant's name was changed from Houston's to Hillstone. The menu is the same.\r \r Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes:\r Though not my normal fare... The preparation was on point. I detected a note of cheese that my palate didn't agree with for the after taste But I won't hold one ingredient against this entire entree. Tonight: 4/5 more

So I order the hickory burger that came with Canadian bacon, chopped cheddar cheese and onion with hickory sauce. This burger was a disaster honestly. The meat was dry, way to dry and the bread could not keep its composure as it was literally dissolving between my fingers more

The food is absolutely delicious. I've had a number of items from the menu and have yet to come across something I didn't like. You MUST have the tres leches for dessert! Don't leave without it. more

My family are really known with the waiters and management great atmosphere honest I never said that about a place and it's also true. Love the burger and diffrent style fries and the salads are really good too, omg the spinach dip appetizer to die for! Havent tried the steak but I bet it's really good too! more

While the waits are long, and the place is noisy, this place has the best ribs and steaks I have seen in Miami. One of my favorites, although it is pretty expensive. more

Houston's isn't bad. But the wait is always long. The food is above average but not cheap. The sushi is not very impressive. Service is generally good but there is nothing about this place that makes me want to wait an hour to eat here. more

Good food. It is expensive here but worth going to once in a while. If you aren't happy with the food, the manager will always try to make you happy by bringing you another item. Some people complained about their burgers and steaks not being anything great or not having a lot of flavor-----try ordering something vegetarian and you will feel differently--the animals will appreciate it also. Houston's has the best vegetable plate with a lot of sides---there is always food to take home because they give you so much. Also, the vegetable burger is amazing--tons of flavor. Also, very good key lime pie. The staff is friendly and yes, they seem to want you to leave once you finish eating---I guess I somewhat understand. There are not a lot of tables and---they are there to earn a living so we just leave after we finish eating. Also, Houston's filters the water that they serve which you cannot find at most places. You can order really healthy food here without the hidden fats and oils that most places have. Expect to spend at least $20/person. more

Good Fresh Food 4/9/2011

First, this review is for No. Miami Beach, not Coral Gables. The view is so lovely, especially at sunset. Along with delicious salads and some tasty fish dishes, this is a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the scenery. Waitresses are well trained and friendly. Bartenders make some great cosmopolitans. Some dishes are better than others, but overall the food is very good. more

Very sad, I used to go to Houston's frequently, I loved the delicious wood oven smell, the dishes cooked to perfection, the super professional service, the wine selection. No visit to Houston's was dull. \r \r Tonight, we went to Houston;s to find out change of name, mediocre service, rancid plantains as garnish for the Rotisserie Chicken, greasy dishes and on top of everything we noticed that the wood oven smell was gone.\r \r It was very disappointing. Not Coming back.\r \r Have to find another favorite place. more

I had the opportunity to dine at Hillstone when it was still called Houston's back on Halloween night 2010. It was very late when we arrived, so the wait was short. Everything I ordered was absolutely perfect from the sushi, to the salad (the blue cheese dressing was to die for), to the steak. Everything was fresh and the portions were plenty. It was on the pricey side, but well worth the money. The service was also excellent. I just wish they had a location here in Jacksonville. I will definitely dine there again when I return to Miami later this year. more

Ridiculously long wait! An hour and a half is unacceptable! Went to Morton's instead where I was seated promptly and it was just as full as Houstons ( now called Hillstone). more

The food over all is very good, it can become expensive if you don't know what to order. The burgers are awsome, also the Thai stake salad, the sushi very tasty and the tres leches desert nice.\r \r The only BAD part is the WAIT, when they tell U 15-20 mnts, it's really more like an hour wait.\r To avoid this try not to go in Lunch(12-2)and dinner (7-9)times, if you can wait past this times you'll be fine. more
