Questions 12/1/2011

First, the directions to your shop provided by the link to Google Maps on your site were wrong, and when I pointed this out, you already knew! Why would you leave that link on your site? It made getting to my appointment difficult. Second, you recommended $2800 in work for my vehicle, part of which was $500 for a battery (& cable) guarenteed to last until my truck is 16 years old. That makes me question whether your goal is to provide the best service possible, or make as much profit as possible. more

This is my fourth experience with Hillmuth, and I think it is going to be the last. In my most recent visit they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to diagnose the problem....and THEN, they would tell me what was wrong and how much it was to fix it. Amazingly, I think the dealership would be cheaper. I am used to (and understand) diagnosis fees on my vehicles (I have many), but a portion is usually credited towards the work. Easy to make the appointment online. Car was serviced very quickly. I got a very easy to understand call, explaining the problems and wasn't pressured into any additional repairs. Sami answered my questions also in an easy to understand way. Great job as always Hilmuth. more

Some Things Never Change 10/28/2011

As a long time customer of Hillmuth on Woodfield Rd, I had a burned out headlight and wanted an immediate change. They were able to fit me in on short notice, replaced the headlight and performed periodic maintenance which was long overdue as I waited. Was fully informed of cost of high intensity headlights before work began. Always a pleasure to deal with Hillmuth more

Coleman Realty Experience 10/24/2011

Recently experienced transmission problems with my 4 year old Mercedes. Was able to get to Hillmuth who quickly analyzed the problem, contacted Mercedes for warranty information, contacted me and provided advice. All within a few hours. I view most shops wearily, because you always have a subtle feeling that someone is trying to fix something that may not be necessary. I interacted with Mike and Sammy and both were professional, clear, articulate and had outstanding follow up and follow-through skills. The vehicle was completed on time and at the number they quoted. My only feedback which may be slightly negative would be that I wish their prices were a little lower, and/or if there were more significant "deals"....as the discount/coupon was less than 2% of the total price (not much of a savings) more

Disappointed in that there was not a definite answer as to what the intermitent miss was caused by, but that it could be this, this or this. Did not want to throw more money at a maybe... I was hoping that Hillmuth could pinpoint the problem. more

Nuts to Bolts Service 9/21/2011

I've been a long-time Hillmuth customer and the reason I continue to be one(as well as referring friends/family) is because from making an appt, car repair status, aux. needs(i.e loaner car, ride to work/home) to quality of repair their customer service is excellent! Highly Recommended more

The overall experience at Hillmuth is great...however, their transmission fluid flush service is too expensive. I'm sure it's quality, but I've found it cheaper elsewhere. more

I have been taking my cars to Hillmuth for 25 years now. I am very pleased with their service and know I can trust them to do what needs to be done to keep my car in good working order. They also give me a ride to work if necessary and have given me a loaner if they need to keep my car overnight. Thank you for being an honest service station! more
