I agree with cjrf. The other 2 comments are most likely people that care not to keep their properties in conformance with the covenants, which is basically to maintain your property like the majority of the other properties. It is not hard to do. And each homeowner is given copies of the rules and they know what they are buying into. This is a very nice place, and like anywhere else, there are always a few soreheads that complain. I've never seen or heard of a sinkhole in this area. The Board the one writer refers to is the past board, and his description is way out of line, and the info on the suit is not correct. more

I love it here! 10/14/2010

I have lived here for over 17 years. This is a true community and the people are wonderful, I love it. The area has beautiful natural vegetation. The Highlands Association provides for landscaping, the club house and pool, tennis courts and nature trails. I hate it when people make negative statements because they never read their documents nor follow the rules. It is very simple, keep your home up to the standard of the whole association population, prior to doing any major renovation to your home .....Call the management company. But remember their authority only extends to the contents of the documents. The police or City of Winter Springs should handle the rest...noise, trash, illegal activities, water and sewage etc. If you would come to the meetings you would quickly understand the scope of action for a homeowner association. So quit blaming everyone else for your STUPIDITY! more

Don't Move to Highlands 7/27/2009

I lived here for 10 years until I got out. The housing market there is miserable because people want to sell but can't. The neighbors are downright awful. Rude, crapping dogs, loud music, fireworks at all times of the night, blocking your driveway with thier cars, fights, etc. The homeowners will come down hard when you don't cut your grass, but they will let everything else slide. You also have several HOAs--the overall one and whatever sub-neighborhood you live in. Awful place and I don't recommend it. Pros: Pool Cons: Everything else more

Better to be homeless than to live here 12/12/2008

Yes, the schools are good. Pros: The pool is nice - however they close it frequently Cons: The old people go house-to-house writing down fines for the association more
