Probably the first thing you will notice stepping into Highlands Hollow is the warm, cozy atmosphere. They have a fireplace in the center of the room which really emphasizes its role as a ski lodge for those coming down from Bogus. While the food is delicious and unexpected, you'll want to go down for their tasty microbrews. They have something for every taste; from malty darks to sweet wheat ales, I don't think anyone in my group of 8 had trouble finding a beer they liked. The people were kind and prompt in their service even when it was most busy. Overall, it was a very delightful experience. more

Unique beer in a unique atmosphere! 4/4/2006

Highlands Hollow is one of those places you've probably never heard of, unless you're into skiing, but it's a favorite spot for people heading back into town after a day in the mountains. The menu choices do venture much beyond the basics, but they do have some unique sandwiches, including a couple of vegetarian options. They also have a good selection of beer they brew locally, which varies depending on season. The prices are reasonable, and there is something to please the palate of any beer lover! more

Highlands Hollow. 3/25/2006

Highlands Hollow is a great place to catch some food and the best local beer. I had never heard of it before but about a year ago decided to try it after reading about it in the Boise Weekly. They have a wonderful variety of food ranging from fish, to pasta, to the usual hamburgers and sandwiches. They also have a big fire place people can sit around which is quite enjoyable during the winter. The prices are good and the wait staff is helpful and friendly. more
