I got so much out of this facility, love the idea of group therapy. A lot of immature night staff - Anna and Catherine are amazing!

Food was good, beds are comfortable. Some basic toiletries are allowed. Not HIPAA compliant in the least. Multiple patient charts, labeled clearly with First name Last initial, are laid open on the desk in the center of the unit. Any patient can walk up and glance down over the counter to read another patient's charts. Nurses and support staff sit or stand around the front desk area gossiping about current patients. Current patients sitting all day at the desk listening to staff discussing other petients and joining in on the gossip. Patients sitting on the phone at the nurses station while nurses gossip about current patients within earshot. Patients first names and last name initials are written on a white board in full view of entire unit. At times Nurses or Staff call you by your full name to verify. Daily a Nurse will call to another unit and read out loud the first and last names of all the patients who is currently on the unit. This is done at the open front desk in ear shot of any patient who happens to stand or sit by the desk. Any patient can find out the full name, social security number, birth date, and possibly address of other patients very easily by hanging around near the desk on Unit. Some Nurses are more open to gossip about patients than others. When you get medications the Nurse asks you to say aloud your full name and birth date every single time. Do not expect any privacy when discharging. Staff will ask you your discharge location and say aloud your address within earshot of whichever patients happen to be nearby you. The doors do not provide much privacy either if you expect to have a private phone call or meeting with a counselor. more

Unexpected bills flying at me from everywhere. 3/25/2019

I was told I was covered. That was not exactly true was it. I get bills from Indian quacks in Pennsylvania. What's that all about? I've had to seek help from the help and this is destroying me. The facility was good and I left feeling very optimistic. Of course there are the usual issues of staff members power tripping about. No big deal. But, this constant billing from people I never heard of from places I've never been? I went as far as to call fraud and make a report. Half the bills stopped coming. Overall a good facility. Some real juvenile staff but that's to be expected. Now, however, I have to "find my mind" and regroup from the trauma of fraudulent opportunists that threaten to ruin me. All in all it was a "push" at best. I'm right back where I started--with huge bills I can't possibly pay from phantoms I never heard of. Having a bit of an issue getting my records as well. more

The Doctors are a joke 2/6/2019

Dr.Gupta the is a terrible doctor. I went here multiple times and each time it got worse. The staff on day shift does all the work. While the night shift does nothing except sit and on their butts and talk. Of course with a few exceptions like Anna. Each staff member has their own set of rules. Don’t waste your time here. more

Don’t go here 2/4/2019

I had to threaten legal action just to get my medical records. more

Only Works if you do Part-Time Hospitalization 10/8/2018

I was able to get temporary help which was great but I was only able to get life changing help once I went into part time hospitalization. It was the best decision in my life but I wish they made it almost a requirement since everyone waves it off. It saved me. more

Don't go multiple times 4/26/2018

I've been a patient multiple times which then creates a problem with getting actual help from Doctors and staff. They actually got very mean. more

A great hospital 4/3/2017

Everyone was helpful and the care I received was excellent. The food was great, clean units and well run therapy groups. Cedar unit is great (Maya, Lisa, Rex , Geffy, Tasha were great). more

Traumatic 3/31/2017

I suppose this reviewer should take into account the fact that this facility was only in operation for one month previous to admission, but I've never experienced such disorganization in any other hospital. And it's not a hospital, because they don't have ready access to lab work, and there was often difficulty in blood draws. The staff wasn't able to manage disruptive resident behavior and were generally inexperienced. The beds aren't really beds, but extremely hard rubber mats with uncomfortable bedspreads and no blankets. The food was excellent, and the chef provided some of the most personalized care. No one seemed to notice that I was just as sick when I left as when I came in. I just needed to get out of there, because it was so chaotic. Addiction and mental illness overlap, but treatment cannot be effective when both populations can't be given the attention that they need. more

Not a place for nurses 11/17/2016

Not a good place to work high turnover no respect for the nurses by management more

What a fantastic hospital. It saved my life 10/17/2016

Being at a few facilities in my life absolutely nothing compared to Highland Springs. The staff was great and most of all it was by far the cleanest hospital I have ever been at. The doctors and nurses were so compassionate and truly made me feel so relaxed which allowed me to focus on my recovery. I give Highland Springs a 10 out of 10. Anyone who may be struggling please know there is help out there for you. My visit really did save my life. Thank you Thank you!!!! more
