High Point Tire

My wife and I moved to the area about a year ago and I took my car to High Point Tire because it was the closest shop to our house. I was looking for a mechanic who I wouldn't feel was taking advantage of me (I'm not the greatest at car knowledge), and High Point Tire (and especially its owner Dale) is exactly what I was looking for. They NEVER shiftily try to sell you more work than you need or prey on your ignorance, and they often actually beat their own estimates on what a repair will cost. On one occasion I needed the front brake rotors replaced on my car and Dale's mechanic quoted me $600-$700 for parts and labor. When the job was done, it only totalled $500. Another time I asked Dale to replace my rear brake rotors and he called back saying that they looked fine and didn't need replacement, so instead he and his crew pulled out and apart both the front and back brakes and checked everything over. The best part: when I went back to pick up the car, Dale refused to charge me. I begged him to take SOME money for his trouble, but he insisted. I'm overjoyed to have found High Point Tire, even more so since I live so close. If you're reading this review because you're looking for a reputable place to take your car, even if you don't live nearby, look no further. As long as my wife and I live, well, within a 12-hour drive of Dale's shop, I'm going to keep bringing my car to him. Five stars isn't enough. more

So im stressing out , car acting seriously wankey, getting worse , low on funds and both goobyear and firestarter not only want me to pay them to diagnose " my problem" but they had me convinced over the phone i might consider putting off repairs until had more funds available....I was most likely going to need an alignment and very possibly some kind of rod joint. I called Highpoint Tire, i was not only welcomed to stop by this morning but the guy spots my problem, a bad tire , before I'm even out of the car! Friendly guy offers me low cost used tires and Great deal on new ones. I left there this morning Problem solve with cash in pocket! much more importantly i left there a whole HELLAVA lot safer... I know for a fact he saved me time money and bending over for Goodyear. I be back for sure ( jiffy lube can suck it too). Thanks dude! more

I have been having my vehicles maintained by HPT for 20 years and could not ask any more in terms of personal integrity, professional competence, and community atmosphere. I think I would trust Dale Richardson to perform brain surgery on my firstborn son if he said he could do it. This is the ultimate lifetime small business. more

I have been looking for a new shop to service my car. High Point Tire is near my office and the reviews looked great. I called to schedule a tire repair. I was told they could do the repair â?? no problem. I explained that I was about to travel for a few days and wanted to make sure I got the repair done before leaving. I offered to leave it that afternoon or the next morning. I was told to bring it on in. I dropped off the car and walked back to my office. It was near closing time and I had heard nothing, so I called to check on my car. The receptionist said that â??we werenâ??t able to get to it todayâ?. I had left the car for almost six hours. She offered to do it the next day and I reminded her that I had given them that choice, but it was no longer an option since I had moved all my necessary appointments from the afternoon I left it to the next day. She said if I could just bring it by, it would only take a few minutes. I did not have that option and no longer trusted them to do what they promised. I spent the weekend driving a 500 mile trip on an out of balance tire. In 30+ years of driving, I have never had a garage keep a car over half a day and fail to complete a simple repair â?? and then not even call. What made it worse was that I had offered the option of bringing it later, but was told it would be done that day. How do people like this stay in business? This may be a good place to trade if you are spending hundreds of dollars on new tires, but it seems obvious that simple repairs only get done if time allows and nothing else is in the way. more

I have been a customer of High Point Tire for about 15 years. I just don't think I could go to another dealer. We have two cars that we take to them for tires. My car is a high end car that requires new tires every 5 or 10 thousand miles, so I see them frequently. They are always very pleasant. I have to call ahead and order my tires because they don't stock them, but they always get them in quickly. When I go in, it is a same day turn around. High Point Tire is probably the best tire dealer I have ever dealt with. more

We have known Dale for years and have been using High Point Tire for over 20 years probably. They provide a good service and they are reliable. We can trust what they tell us and the work that they do. They have done work on multiple cars for us, everything from maintenance and tires to repairs. I would give High Point Tire a 10-star rating for service. They are dependable, certified, and they do a great job. I am in sales and I rely on my car because I travel a lot for work. At High Point, they diagnose the problem and explain in detail what is wrong and what my options are. In addition to my car, they have worked on all of my family's cars, including my children's cars. They have done both maintenance and repair work for us over the years. I always feel that we are treated fairly at High Point and I recommend them all of the time. Bob Brenner more
