In the country, beautiful outdoor settings with waterfalls, lakes, hiking trails etc. Cabins are great (esp. the honeymoon cabin) Our son's wedding was just there and the staff was professional and friendly. We were so impressed with everything, the set up, the food, the service, the bar, the wine, the expertise of everyone there. Hidden Lake had 3 weddings at the same time there that day and you wouldn't have known that others were going on except when you walk outside at night you could hear music from a distance. Kellie in the Barrel Room is an awesome server, and all the bar staff and the servers and chefs did such a great job for us, Thanks to all of you more

My husband and I went to Silent Forest Cabins for our anniversary. We found it topnotch! The cabin was very comfortable with a king size bed and a wonderful jacuzzialong with a little kitchen nook that has a microwave and mini-frig. What more can you ask for? It was tucked into the woods which made a cozy, leisurely atomsphere that my husband and I definitely needed. We also visited the Hidden Lake winery and the Bar and Grill that is located there. Their wines are excellent and we enjoyed browsing the different and unique labels. Friday night was all you can eat crablegs at the Bar and Grill. The food and service were excellent!! The atomsphere and ambience were wonderful. We enjoyed our time there immensely and will definitely recommend it to others!! more

A group of six of us decided to take a ride out to the winery yesterday, despite the poor reviews. We went for the Sunday brunch--the food and the staff were wonderful and very attentive. Then we secured a lakeside table and went up to do some wine tasting. That's where we ran into alittle bit of a problem. The staff there seemed unorganized and overwhelmed. It took about a half hour to taste 6 samples and then another at least 10 minutes to purchase a bottle. We didn't let this deter us from having a good time, enjoy fantastic wine, beautiful scenery and a great ""wine trail"". We will definately return and bring others with us. I originally booked the Majestic Falls location of Hidden Lake Winery for my September 2009 wedding about a year out. I met with a coordinator that was very friendly, informative, and helpful. About 3 months before the wedding my fiance and I hadn't heard a word from the winery, not even for our payment, so I decided to schedule a follow up appointment. We met with Lori... the new coordinator... and she was awful. She didn't know anything about our contract, nor did she take the time to learn about it before our appointment. She was very passive aggressive with us throughout the entire process. Weeks before the wedding she wasn't returning calls or emails, I had to hire my friend to fill in as event coordinator in her absence. To top it off, every employee of Hidden Lake Winery knew of my wedding as ""the wedding with the thing""?! I'm not a difficult person to please, but I would never recommend their services to anyone. We made reservations for a bachelorette party on August 22nd. Specific instructions were given and included in the contract that was signed. We requested and paid for a server and bartender in the private room that we rented. They were not there. A server was pulled from the floor, but we still had to go to the bar and get our wine. The staff at the bar was EXTREMELY rude. They tried to charge us for the ?tasting? that was included in our contract simply because they had a festival that night. We were charged for wine glasses to drink with the six bottles of wine that we purchased on top of the food and room charges that were prepaid. We rented the ?wine cellar? room. When we got there, we were sent on our way, to a dark room, left to feel around and turn the lights on ourselves. There were no linens on the table. Visited Hidden Lake this afternoon in anticipation of a relaxing afternoon. Arrived at 3 and after watching 3 other couples arrive at the tasting bar and get service while we were just left standing, we left after 15 minutes after not being greeted or served.
