great spot right outside of the city 8/14/2005

This is a great spot to spend a day exploring. They have quite a few animals to look at, including Bison, deer and wild turkeys. The trails around the area are just beautiful and change from season to season. I love to go on a cool Fall day and just stroll around. They have a beautiful lodge where you can hold events. We are planning on renting it out to get married and have our reception. They also have camping areas that are close to the lake and surrounding trails. more

Great County Park 7/26/2005

This is a great county park. Their is a great fishing lake that you can boat or canoe on. Many trails and places for picnics. There is a Frisbee golf course a beach and great campgrounds. The campgrounds have clean shower houses, laundry and cabins. They also have animals like buffalo and deer and many other species that call this park home. The price for camping is good and they also take reservations. There is a little store right outside of the park entrance if you need little things. Otherwise, it is a little drive to get necessities. more
