I took my car to Hi Tech Transmissions for a transmission repair, converter repair, vale gaskets, oil leaks, new front axles installed a new shift change cable, headlight repair and cooling system repair and some other things.\r I was gone on a trip and left it with Jason for a week. Jason would call me at least once every other day. sometimes 1 or more times a day to inform me of what was going on and ask permission to do certain procedures and the cost, that we had not discussed. That was most unusual for service shops to do but most welcome. Jason his staff and especially Victoria his receptionist and right arm, were pleasant curtious and forth right with me, which I appreciated.\r \r I am writing this review 6 weeks after I picked up the car(April 27). I purposely did not write the review until I had an opportunity to use my car for a period of time to make sure that what I said was truly correct, not a quick judgement. I have been very pleased with not the maintenance on the car but at the service and friendliness by all at the shop. I was also pleased at the price considering what all I had to have done. At different shops, I was quoted $11791.00 for just the transmission and I would have had to take to another shop, which quoted $1350 for all the other work. All totaled was $3141 plus having to move my car and wait over two weeks for my car to be finished. Hi Tech's price for all the work was $150.00 less. It was a late Friday night around ten o'clock. I was traveling through Chattanooga to get to my aunts house in South Carolina. Ten miles outside of Chattanooga Tennessee my 2001 Volkswagon Jetta started to loose power and slip very badly when taking off at a complete stop. I stopped at a red light on Lee Hwy trying to get off the interstate and my car just quit moving right there in the middle of the road. To make matters worse it was insanely pouring down rain and lightnening like crazy. The rain was coming down so hard I couldn't even see in front of me with the windshield wipers on. My car just quit moving forward. I pulled out my I phone and called several phone numbers for different mechanic shops that would work on transmissions. Nobody answered the phone except Jason at Hi Tech Transmission & Auto Center. I was scared to death because I was sitting in middle of the road and could not see. Jason told me to keep the car running and turn on my hazard lights. Funny thing is that I know to do this normally but I was in such a panic I couldn't think. I turned on my hazard lights and left the car running. About 20 minutes later a tow truck showed up from his shop. The guy had a rain coat on and gave me an umbrella to stand outside my car while he was loading it up on the tow truck. The tow truck guy offered me to ride with him to drop my car off at Hi Tech Transmission & Auto Center. We drove to their shop, dropped off the car, the driver then dropped me off at a nearby hotel so I would have somewhere to stay for the night. I called the next morning to Hi Tech Transmission & Auto Center. I spoke with the secretary there and she told me that Jason was a great guy and has helped a lot of people and she loved working with such a good bunch of people. She patched me through to Jason. He had already checked the car for me and it turns out that it was just a leak on the pan that caused all of my transmission fluid to run out of the vehicle. He said that he needed to replace the pan and the gasket on the bottom of the cars transmission and put fluid in it and that may be all that the car needs to make it run correctly again. The cost was $149. I told him to go ahead and do the work. He called me back about 2 hours later and told me that the car was ready and that he was able to get the parts a little cheaper and that it would only be $129 instead. I got a ride to Hi Tech Transmission and waited in their lobby until they test drove my car on the highway to make sure it was driving correctly since I had to go such a long way. They have a nice shop and they appeared very organized and in touch with their profession. I was so scared that I was going to need a transmission replaced but that wasn't the case. I'm a woman and don't know a lot about cars and especially transmissions. I'm sure they picked up on that :). They could have said I needed a new transmission and did whatever but they even offered for me to watch the work they were doing when I was on the phone with him earlier. I am so thankful that they answered the phone that night because otherwise I would have been so screwed. I'm also glad to know that there are good honest hard working people out there still in this economy. I recommend them fully to anyone who needs and honest mechanic that knows their stuff. For me that night, they were lifesavers. When I got ready to pay the bill it turns out that I was eligible for a discount of ten percent because I am in the military. I just could not have had a better experience. They were fabulous for a damsel in distress. more

I just want to say how GREAT Hi-Tech is. I was travelling out of town with my daughter to relocate my son-in-law to Ft. Carson when we had car trouble. It was running hot with the check engine light on too. I called at 6:05 on a Monday evening and was shocked when a REAL person answered the phone. He told me to bring the car in the morning-- which I did. Her Equinox had to have the whole front end dis-assembled to install the fans-- a huge repair. They worked on it all day and even stayed late to make sure it was good to go... and it was... we did not have ONE bit of trouble all the way to Colorado and it is still working great... Everyone there was so friendly and honest. So refreshing to find honest people doing a hard day's work..\r Thanks Hi-Tech-- we appreciate you !! more

These people are crooks...over $900 for a tail light replacement and they couldn't even identify in person or on the receipt what ""parts"" were replaced!! When we asked for our old parts to be returned they said they would have to charge us for them. They took pictures though! As if they knew the bill was going to be disputed before the work was done...NEVER do business here they are CROOKS they need to be shut down. more

I have brought my car to Hi-Tech several items over the past year and every time they did a good job for me on several different vehicles. Thanks guys! more

Took my minivan here a couple months ago when my car over-heated and my radiator literally burst. As a result, my engine was completely fried, so I was looking at major repairs. So I brought my car here to get my transmission checked out and the alignment fixed. Well not only did they take care of my transmission and realigned my car, they even added in some new tires. So, I don't really see my self going any where else but here. more

I brought my car here when I noticed that it just wouldn't stop over heating no matter what I did to prevent it. So after talking to a close friend, I brought it here. I'll admit, I did some research on this place and after reading some of the reviews, I was a little scared to take my car here. But I took a chance and must say that i'm very glad that I did. They told me exactly what the problem was and why it was over heating and what would have to be done to fix and prevent the problem from happening. When I asked how much it would be I was a little shocked at the initial price but I discussed with him that i was going through some personal issues and he was kind enough to work with me. \r The mechanics at High-Tech fixed my car and sent me back on the road feeling confident in the repair. \r I would gladly recommend them to any of my friends. more

I had my Tranny worked on by another shop and then something else supposedly went wrong with it again 6 months later. I work on vehicles all the time and I know that when you get into an area of the vehicle you can see other things that might need to be replaced soon so you either do the work then or at least make a comment about it. I spent a ton of money at the other shop and when I returned with the new problem they just acted like I still had another ton of money to spend on it. There was no way that the problem was not obvious when they had it the first time so I simply could not trust them. \r \r he identified the new problem right away and the estimate that he gave me WAS EXACTLY what it cost!!! And he also told me that since he was not able to completely remove the tranny and go over the whole thing, (I didn't have the money for him to do that), but he told me anyway that he felt everything was fine but he couldn't guarantee that something else might not go wrong. That is usually not what people like to hear but I would rather hear that from a mechanic instead of them trying to butter me up or feed me a line of bull unlike the first shop.\r I will be going here again if I or anyone in my family needs tranny work! more

Do not under any circumstance, bring your car here. Unless you don't want the car anymore. This business is nothing but a scam ran by Jason Reid.
