I went for the state and emission inspection with the coupon $20.\r My vehicle got passed everything. But finally understand that how could they give just for $20? While taking off the front wheel, they broke one stud and nut of front tire wheel. They charged me $5 for stud and nut which is OK. But they charged me $47.60 as Labor charge to fix the stud and nut. See how unfair it is. Initially they told it would be around $30. After some time that guy said it would be around $30 to $40. Again after some time that guy said it would be $40 to $50. They only broke the nut and stud while taking off the wheel for inspection. Since they are doing inspection just for $20 which is not at all profit for them, they charged me $47.60 as Labor charge to fix the nut which is totally unfair.\r I suggest don't fall into the trap of $20 coupon for inspection. You will definitely be charged much much more even though your car is perfect. more

We've been taking our cars to these guys for years, and they have always seemed very reasonable and have done good work. One year, my old car had been in their shop far too often, and the owner told me that, while he enjoys my business, I should really get a newer, more reliable car, since I was wasting money on the old one. I don't think too many places care to make that kind of recommendation. It's a relatively clean and orderly shop, too, compared to many others, and they almost always get the work done when they say they will. I'm a little baffled by some of the other reviews, since they don't reflect our experience. more

Just had our third perfect experience with Hi-tech auto! Each time they have gone above and beyond doing additional repairs with absolutely no additional charge. We went in for an inspection with the $19.99 coupon and the only additional charges were for wiper blades. The cost for the wiper blades was no more than what I would have paid to get them at either an auto parts store or Costco. In addition, as we left, we were told that they had also taken the time to reattach our bumper that had been falling off for months. The bumper alone was a job that a collision shop had quoted me over $150.00 for. At Hi-tech auto they not only repaired it, but charged absolutely no labor. Absolutely fabulous customer service at a great price! Much cheaper than Finks! more

The couple favorable reviews found here are obvious plants. These guys are ripoff artists in the extreme. Car inspection? If they can get away for charging you $500-$600 for various un-needed and overpriced repairs -- THEY WILL. Parts costs? Expect to pay at least four times actual value. Integrity? None. They severely bent one of my exhaust pipe supports with working on the car and never said a thing about it. THIS PLACE IS THE PRECISE DEFINITION OF WHAT CAUSES AUTO REPAIR SHOPS TO BE LOOKED AT WITH SUSPICION. Avoid at all costs -- or it WILL cost you dearly! more

This business is not only a ripoff, they are prejudice. I ana latino female. Since moving to this area, I have had to had my car repaired a few different times. Each time I've gone to Hi-Tech Auto, they have tried to charge me 500 dollars. The first time was for an inspection. The next time was for brakes. The next time, it was for admissions. Of course, I didn't pay. But, it was the principle. I guess they saw a minority woman and thought, "SUCKER!". I will never do business with them again!!! They even charged me 5 dollars for putting on a spare tire (I had to go to them for this--I needed to get to work that day.) Otherwise, RIPOFF!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! There is anothe local shop (That starts with "F') That's in Aspinwall. They are nice, respectful and Christians! That's where I would go! more

I went there for an inspection and they gave me an extraordinary bill! I reserached for the parts online they were a fourth of the price what was charged to me by these guys. I would think twice about going to them. more

Took my vehicle for inspection. They said I needed to replace back brakes and the emergency brake. They told me to replace the brakes they would have to pull the rear axle, anyone who knows anything about vehicle repairs knows you don't pull the axle to replace brakes. I replaced them myself and they charged me for a second full inspection. Also their price for an emission test is much higher than most of their competitors. They are a real rip off. more

I had my safety/emissions test here with the coupon, and came back another time for brake pad change and oil change. These guys do a great job, they're affordable and friendly. One of the service guys even gave me a homegrown tomato once too! more

I've been going to these guys for over 4 years now. They are honest and affordable. They are conveniently located below RIDC Park. They always run specials where you can get a free emission test with your state inspection (you need a coupon for it). Total cost is under $20!!! PROS: Trustworthy, Affordable CONS: NONE more
