Henry's Hobby House

If I could give ZERO stars I would... BEWARE AT ALL COSTS! The selection is tiny...the costs are outrageous...AND...BE ADVISED...YOU CANNOT RETURN ANY ITEM FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN STORE CREDIT! I paid cash for an item... got a receipt... did NOT open it (price tag is still on the box!)... came back the next day to return it and was told that I can only get store credit....even though I paid cash...even though it was only a day later... AVOID AT ALL COSTS... it is this type of customer service that makes me shop at the big box stores. You'd think a small business like this would do whatever it takes to earn and keep your business. more

I first shopped at Henry's as a young man when it was located in downtown Worcester. It was a little inconvenient for someone living in the subburbs without a drivers license but was still worth the trip. Over the years, my interests and priorities have varied but am still a hobbyist at heart . I was so saddened by the news of the fire which forced Henry's to close. I know that if he depended on my occasional patronage to keep him open.....well , he wouldn't have been this long. I can only hope that he decides to re-open when he can. It would be a tremendous loss to our community if he didn't. I know that I will be back as a customer and friend. I hope that others can realize that there is a place for this type of business in this impersonal fly by night internet based world. We need the ""Henry's"" of this world. more

Hobby stores are a dying breed. It is virtually impossible for these stores to compete with on line prices. What they offer is immeadiacy, help on a variety of subjects, knowledge about products and friendly service. As hobbiests we must do our part to support this part of the industry, for if we do not where will we turn on sunday afternoon for that last minute jar of paint, piece of track or last minute kit to use as a gift? Where will potential new modellers go to fall in love by actually seeing all this cool stuff? Pros: Great staff Cons: burnt down. Needs to reopen ASAP! more

I used to go to this place when it was in Worcester near the Common and I was about 10. Their current late & weekend hours are poor, if you happen to work during the day like most of us do to support our hobby habits(!) I often find myself driving out to Marlboro MA to the Spare Time Shop (508) 481-5786 at 222 E Main St. (They also have a web page, though seldom updated!!) Henry's is what it is, the only place in the area... They charge prices accordingly due to the lack of competition nearby, but it wouldnt be bad if they expanded their hours and advertised a bit more !!! Pros: It is the only place nearby.... Henry's Hobbies is a small hobby store in West Boylston, MA. While the sales help is generally very friendly, the store has terrible hours, being closed completely on Sundays, as of this writing there is no web site to check the store hours and the prices are 30% higher than they should be. While being a small store, they attempt to have a little of everything, but usually don't have enough of anything you really need. It is a shame because it is the only real hobby store in this side of Worcester. I really can't understand how he stays in business, because every time I go to the store it is closed!!!!!
