Clean and let me repeat clean! Great sandwiches...fun place to meet for lunch for a casual get together!

Worst

Henri's has a lovely bakery with a wide variety of pastries. The rugalach is particularly good. Sandwiches are large and inexpensive. Service at the takeout counter is efficient, ...

Don't get the Macaroons 4/25/2012

I guess I've had too many good Macaroons in Paris so I know what they are supposed to taste like. I stopped by and picked up a dozen to take to a small luncheon. They were completely stale, hard and crumbly. I was so disappointed. They had to be at least a week oldIf you are in the bakery business, shouldn't you know that macaroons need to be made fresh everyday? Pros: null Cons: null more

NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMERS!!! CRIMINALS!!! 4/3/2012

Three weeks ago I ordered a special cake for my daughter's 9th birthday. I guess everyone would agree that this is a very big deal... Well, not for Henry's! On the requested pick up date, just 3 hours before the party, surprise... Henry's was closed!!! It is just not right to make a girl cry on the day of her birthday party!!! She was hopeless!!! And I furious!!! Most amazingly, no one ever gave me a call to say that the bakery was going to be closed on the day I requested pick up - and not even after the fact... I guess my cake is still there (if it has ever been made!). It will rotten there! I will never set my feet on that place! Thanks God for Whole Foods! They made a beautiful - and delicious cake in 2 hours! more

great thumb print cookies 4/2/2011

come here in a pinch for a quick sandwich and cookie-try to avoid the busy lunch hour because they have to hire someone to direct traffic more

Overrated and over-priced 8/8/2009

I'm sure Henri's was something in it's day, but quite frankly, I didn't see what all the fuss was over. The pimento cheese sandwich, I thought would be a really good homemade Southern style sandwich, which turned out to be overly dry, the equivalent of going to the grocery store and slapping the cheapest spread on two slices of bread. That certainly was not worth the price: over-priced. Pros: good assortment of bakery items Cons: over-priced,basically equivalent of grocery store sandwiches more

Henri' Thanksgiving Dinner 11/28/2008

The Henri?s Thanksgiving Dinner was something to be thankful for if you did not have to eat it. I was so disappointed. For the price I was expecting a nice dinner. The gravy tasted like chicken soup. Potatoes were used instead of the advertised giblets. The dressing was not even dressing; it was a corn cake with jalape?os in it. We could not eat it. The ?pumpkin pie? was soggy, and much too sweet. The Turkey was overcooked. The dressing was so bad I took it back the next day. I was told no refunds! I can certainly understand why. Cons: I had poor food and poor customer service more

Great food, can be crowded, WAY overpriced 4/15/2008

Henri's is just around the corner from my office, and I love their sandwiches, sweets, and baked goods. It's a great place to grab a quick bite or satisfy your sweet tooth. The biggest thing I object to is their prices. Small cookies for $1.05? A basic sandwich for nearly $6.00? Definitely a great place, but usually not worth premium prices! Also, beware of the lunch crown during the week, especially at high noon. Pros: Baked goods - among the best in Atlanta Cons: Prices - way too high more

Good Po Boys and baked goods 2/25/2008

This place is one reason I miss living in Buckhead. The Po Boy sandwiches are very good, although they can be dry sometimes. Make sure to grab a mustard packet or horseradish i the dining area. The seating area is okay for lunch, but nothing special. I'd recommend picking up lunch and heading to a local park. The baked goods are all excellent. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean cookie - I wish I had the recipe for that one. The chocolate eclairs and macaroons are also outstanding. Their thanksgiving catering is just okay - in my opinion Fresh Market has better dressing and sides. Pros: great food, lots of tempting choices Cons: not enough parking - it gets ridiculous around lunchtime more

Absolutely horrible cakes 8/28/2007

We just purchased a small sheet cake from Henri's for a celebration. It was the worst cake I have ever had. It was extremely dry (and expensive). I have never felt so ripped off at a piece of bakery. What's worse, is the embarrassment of watching people trying to eat the cake and not say how terrible it was. Never again. PS - This was not a custom made cake. It was what they had on-hand. Regardless, they should not have sold a cake so old, especially for $25. Pros: Good donuts Cons: Terrible cakes more

The best bakery in town!!!! 6/21/2007

One word.......AWESOME!!!! Everything is fantastic. I need Henri's once a week. Thank god for the gym!!! I love their black forest cake and the chocolate torte......yum!!!!! more

Still Good After All These Years! Love The Po'Boys! 3/29/2007

No this is not a Paul Simon song/review. But I've been going here since I was a kid. The baked good assortment is basically the same, but it seems a little dated since Whole Foods is now around the corner. We still love the cheese straws. But the original Roast Beef Po' Boy, is still the star. Beef, pickles, mayo, and that crusty French Bread. Just grab one, since they are already made up. Add a Dr. Brown's soda, and you have a perfect lunch, head out to the patio, in this nice weather. Pros: Roast Beef Po'Boy! Cheese Straws! Cons: Parking Can Be Tight! more

The BEST Cheesecake I have everrrrrr had! 4/23/2006

The Vice President of the company I work for, sent a cheesecake to each branch in the Metro Atlanta area. "Just for my ladies" the note said on this box of heaven. This is the absolute best cheesecake I have ever had in my entire life. I have had it all over the more

great sandwitches 3/3/2006

My BF and I went to Henri's one weekend for late lunch. It is very hard to find good delis in ATL but my BF LOVED his sandwitch! The portion is big and thier bread is awsome. I recommend that you try this place. more

Mmmm-mmmm good! 5/19/2005

I have been going to Henri's since Henri was alive. We used to stop by every Sunday after church, and Henri would always give me a gingerbread man to take with me. Over the years, it has only gotten better while eerily managing to maintain the same terrific quality of the original items. The sandwiches are still to die for, and I love their new offerings in the dessert section. You must try the doughnuts and the cheese bennies. Goodness gracious, they are good! Pros: Value, Quality, Wonderful! more

amazing 5/9/2003

Henri's has wonderful sandwiches and pastries. Their bread is to die for and the cocoa squares are like heaven. The service is as fast as it can possibly be, but during lunch hours don't expect to be out in 2 min. Pros: delicious, friendly service, premade sandwiches Cons: sometimes crowded, little parking more

Best Substitute For Mom's Cheesecake 3/3/2003

For my birthday my mom was nice enough to visit me from out of town and she intended on bringing a homemade cheesecake which I consider superior to any other birthday cake. She realized closer to my home than to her's that she had forgotten the cheesecake in the fridge. Bless her heart she really was upset, but she happened across Henri's The cake she gave me was not only great looking, but the cake was moist and yummy. The frosting was indulgent. I really have no basis for rating anything but their cakes, however I will make it a point to to visit on my own. more

Unforgettable 1/4/2003

I was introduced to Henri's Bakery 30 yrs ago while working in Buckhead. I have had sandwiches from lots of places and I have found none to compare with Henri's. Trying to recreate the sandwiches at home doesn't help because it is their wonderfully flavorful bread that adds the touch to any sandwich they make. Henri's is at the top of my list of places I must go back to whenever I visit Atlanta. It is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets. Pros: Great taste, Great value, No-hassle parking more

Exquisite taste 11/1/2002

Henri's best asset is not just flavor, but the exquisite taste of Master Decorator, Joletta Glanz. She has won countless awards. Be sure to see her display for the Festival of Trees, again this year. She has taken blue ribbons over establishments, such as The Ritz. Whether you desire a simple basket weave or an intricate Australian lace wedding cake, Ms. Glanz is the best designer in the Southeast. Pros: Designer:Ms. Glanz more

Ummmm. 10/14/2002

A birthday cake from Henri's is always a treat despite the pricey-ness. I've never had lunch or pastries from the counter, but I still fantasize about their cakes. Ummmm. Pros: Birthday cakes more

Best Bakery in Atlanta! 8/29/2002

The pastries and cakes remind me of back home (Miami). I've tried Alon's and some others but they were nothing special. I can now buy my cakes from Henri's instead of Publix. more
