Henny Penny Produce

I went to the grand opening in the new downtown building inside Market Limone. The owners were VERY rude. Twice they pushed my wife out of the way so that they could set up fake customers for the TV camera. My mother was looking at some bread and they moved the cart as she was standing there. Never said "excuse me" or even acknowledged that she was there. This really bothered us. We were excited to check out the new store, and see another community owned high-end store in Nampa... and instead they let us know that they really don't care for our business. We are a couple that makes over 200k a year and have money to spend.. they did not want it. Back to driving to Boise. Too bad. more

Henny Penny is the perfect little grocery store for our family. Perfect. We don't often get into Boise to go to the co-op there and many of the grocery stores in our area are limited in their fresh and natural foods. We've never been disappointed with this little grocery. We begin each weekly visit with our kids running over to select their 10-cent candy stick for the week. Everyone knows us at the store and they seem glad to see us every single time, even when our kids run across to the candy display--heck, maybe because of their enthusiasm. We do as much of our grocery shopping at this store as we possibly can and usually we can find just about everything we need for the week. Special note should be made that they always have the freshest and best milk and eggs. They have locally baked breads that are amazing. Their pies are the best. The Best. We enjoy cooking with fresh foods and my husband often stops on his way home to pick up a few fresh ingredients for salads or paella. There is no other business near to us that fills this niche. It's a great business, owned and run by generous and friendly people, and they're always good to our kids. It doesn't get any better. more

I love going to Henny Penny. They have the products you can’t find at Wal*Mart, and their vegetables and fruits are far superior. If you do any of your own canning this is the store you want to get to know. They have saved me several times when I haven’t been able to find what I need at other area stores. Not to mention you can’t beat parking right at the front door! more

One of the few remaining Local Produce shops, Henny Penny is a great place to get wonderful local food. They have a wide variety, and the owners are really nice. I got a big box of peaches there perfect for making jam, and it was very cheap compared to purchasing at one of the "big chain stores". There are lots of things to browse through, and again, a lot of the produce is locally grown. more
