I've had several occasions to work with Helton & associates. In all cases, the office was ran with utmost care with respect to legal concerns. All collectors are trained in the legal means to collect according with US law, and state law. Clients are treated with respect and dignity. The most unfortunate thing is most people involved in collections are such that write bad checks. However, I have personally witnessed many calls to these folks and if they admit their error and agree to pay, every effort is made to make the payments rather painless. Some people just don't want to admit they were wrong and stronger means are available, and employed (legally) by Helton & Associates. I guess you could simply say, ""...it's a dirty job..."" I think this company is fantactic! Of course, I'm somewhat biased since I owned it at one time. I read the initial review with a chuckle. They declared that the company had been reported to the Attorney Generals office due to it's ""tactics"" . The information was so complete that I'm inclined to believe it was written by the person involved. If so, I wonder why they didn't mention they had written a bad check to a local grocery and had feined ignorance when that company requested the check be made good. The Office of The Attorney General reviewed our contacts with the checkwriter and correspondence from the checkwriter, then promptly closed their file. The debtor paid the full amount set by statute as demanded. As I said, I'm biased, but that sounds like good collections to me. more

This company has been reported to The Ohio Attorney General for the illegal use of strong arm tactics to collect money. They are used by Dillman Foods and if you get a letter for Helton and Associates please report it to the Ohio Attorney General. Only deal with the company they are tring to collect for. If you are a business you should not use this company to collect for you because they will do your business more harm then good. BE WARE of this company.
